Givin' a SHOUT OUT for Copro

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Second that. I don't agree with all of his stuff, but most of it. He doesn't pull any punches, and I like that.

Dudes taking ALOTTA GRIEF.

Gotta tell ya, though, I think he's SPOT ON with about 99% of his posts.

And I like his prose style.

I'm a COP SUPPORTER.👍

I certainly think we need a few like him around here. Can't say I have much sympathy, though, because I don't think he minds the grief. I think he actually enjoys his role. Cathartic, maybe.

+1.

The thing I like most is that even when I disagree with him, I still respect the amount of thought and consideration underpinning his beliefs.

I really don't think thats where his mind is.

I think he sees the world a certain way,

and...

UHHHHHHH....

thats it.

Funny thing is I agree with mosta the s h it that emerges from his ISP.

Including alotta the tatoo s hit.😱

WOW.

can't believe this is being typed but like in Stephen King's DUMA KEY novel....sometimes prose (art) is destiny....

I HAVE A PREJUDICE.

DUDE'S TATS DON'T BOTHER ME.

CHICKS WITH TATS....WELLL...UHHHH.... (aside from the special situation tats)

THERE.

I said it.

at least I'm honest.

I know MANY well adjusted, professional males with ink.

Every chick I've met with ink has...uhhhhh...

ISSUES.

MULTIPLE DUDE "I-CANT-GET-RIDDA-MY-PAST" ISSUES.

Yeah, thats totally gender biased.

And I'm not a gender bias dude with anything.

Except INK.

Gotta go with Cop's prose on female ink (aside from the special situation ink):

From a Dudes standpoint, "GENTLEMEN,"

if the chick you are seeking has a TRAMP STAMP,

BE AFRAID. BE VERY AFRAID.....

What if her tattoo is something like a bracelet? On her wrist.
What about the full sleeve on a chick?
Not every girl with tat's has the tramp stamp, bullseye, target.
So how do you feel about the other types of tat's on chicks?

IMO, the worst possible tat on a girl is on the chest/breast.

Jet, I wholeheartedly disagree with you on this one, however. Cop's tattoo biases are out of line. They are all assumptions of character and we all know this is rarely accurate. Sure, there are some folks with tats that fit the "white trash" persona but that still isn't a reason to judge them. WE judge people on their actions, not appearance and if we do judge on appearance then we are stereotyping them. Many have accused me of stereotyping locums here. But I judge them on their performance (actions) not appearance. Tattoo's are no different. They are an expression just like a hair style, clothing, vehicle, etc. Cop, do you feel the same way about men with long hair? Women with shaved heads? Homosexuals?

Very well said. I've considered commenting in the tattoo thread, but you summed up my thoughts very well here. Thanks.

So, you can call me the "Judge Judy" or "Lisa Lampanelli" of this forum... those two women can be brutal, but they have more balls than most men. In fact, you can call me whatever you want. I really don't give a flying ****.

Bottom line is that none of you people know who I am. And, because of that, I feel a slightly higher degree of freedom to tell you how I and many other people, who aren't stuck in the politically correct "real" world here, truly feel about particular subject matter.

This is about me, peeps. But, thanks for trying to make it that way. You're doing a great job of further inflating an already large ego. 🙂

I'm just saying he knows what he's doing when he jumps into a thread with guns blazing. He wants the outcome, so I don't necessarily feel bad if he gets grief, and I don't think he does, either. it's usually pretty fun to watch.

I've been here long enough to know who is worth an argument. He's not one of them, unless I know I've got the winning hand.

Well, to be clear, I should have said (and corrected it on the other thread) that the issue "isn't about me, peeps"... but the rest of what I said in that quote stands.

And, well, if anyone takes me too seriously, just remember what my username stands for...

😉

P.S. And, noyac, you're a hypocrite. You sort of admitted it, but why don't you just own it and be done with it.

Hey, I know you don't agree with me... well, I guess like 1% of the time... or something... (haha, I'm sure it's more). But, at least thanks for the props on recognizing that, right or wrong and agree or not, I put thought into what I stand firmly upon (unlike a lot of other people in this world).

Since you are a resident I expect nothing more from you. You can't possibly understand how things really work outside your cocoon. Unfortunately, you are not afraid to protest your ignorance. :slap:

Thank you for continuing to clearly demonstrate a classic example of this.

And, thanks too for reading my posts. I hope you continue to enjoy responding to them!

yeah, he's a real standup guy Jet.

Cop you sit here on this site and criticize everyone all day long and when someone calls you out you resort to insults. I have a feeling even those that were in support of you are starting to waiver. I wouldn't be surprised if you were a nurse here just to piss people off. For your information this is an anonymous forum, you don't matter. But by your response (insults) I can tell I got under your skin which is reward enough.

Just because a dude is smart and talented doesn't mean he's not bitter. And said dude has been especially bitter since November.

1st - Let's not be too contemptuously dismissive of someone because he's just a resident. It's a fallacy to assume that you're invariably smarter than your juniors, students, or subordinates.

2nd - You know he's not a nurse. Agree or disagree with his opinions, if you've read anything he's posted in clinically oriented threads, you know he has a rational, thoughtful, and knowledgeable approach to most problems. He's so obviously a physician that any supposition that he's a nurse calls into question the judgment of the questioner. You're being spiteful, not rational here.

3rd - Posting with the express purpose of getting under someone's skin is trolling; you don't want to go there, do you?

I've had more than a couple significant disagreements with coprolalia on this forum, but in general he writes well and he thinks well. At times he reminds me a bit (ok, a lot 🙂) of VolatileAgent, but if nothing else, he makes you think about and defend your own opinions.

Besides, this forum would suck if it was all handholding, songsinging, and placid agreement on all subjects at all times.

"Tramp Stamp" I just heard of that one like 3 months ago. Had no clue....LOL

I have a question for my friend Copro 😀 :
I usually have a very good memory and I am almost certain that a while ago you said that you were a CRNA before you became a physician, am I just imagining things or is that really what you said?
By the way no offense intended and you don't even have to answer my question if you don't like it.

I have a question for my friend Copro 😀 :

 Yeah, that's a stretch.

I usually have a very good memory and I am almost certain that a while ago you said that you were a CRNA before you became a physician, am I just imagining things or is that really what you said?
By the way no offense intended and you don't even have to answer my question if you don't like it.

I was not a nurse nor, therefore, a CRNA before I became a physician. However, I did not, like many other people who have become physicians and then anesthesiologists, take the "traditional" path (i.e. high school, college, med school, residency) to get where I am today.

I do personally know three physicans, two of whom happen to be anesthesiologists, and one of whom was, in fact, a CRNA before going to med school. The one who was a CRNA is a current resident colleague, and is in her late 30's. Of the other two, both are attendings and were "just" nurses... one is an anesthesiologist and the other is an ED physician.

All three say now that "they didn't know what they didn't know" before becoming physicians, and that the difference in knowledge, training, and responsibility is vastly different and requires a far higher degree of responsibility and decision-making than they could've even remotely understood before going to med school. But, each (in my observation) has also uniquely brought their "nursing" perspective to their practice, and (in my opinion) sometimes focus on minutiae that isn't always necessarily germane in the "big picture".

I once asked the "former" CRNA why she would give up being a CRNA and go this difficult route, especially when she already had what so many people want. She told me that she thought she would be able to - and I quote - "fix the rigged system from the inside" after completing her degree and training. Upon becoming a physician and entering residency, though, it became abundantly clear to her the number of assumptions she had made during her nursing career about... well... everything she did but didn't immediately understand... that, before getting the training we get in med school, it didn't really make a difference. Now, with her additional medical knowledge, she realizes just how wrong she was. Nonetheless, she is, I can say without a doubt, one of the true stand-outs in our residency class.

Thanks for asking.

"He who lives in glass houses..."

😉

There's a saying that goes "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones." Okay. How about "Nobody should throw stones." That's crappy behavior. My policy is: "No stone throwing regardless of housing situation." Don't do it. There is one exception though. If you're trapped in a glass house, and you have a stone, then throw it. What are you, an idiot? So maybe it's "Only people in glass houses should throw stones, provided they are trapped in the house with a stone." It's a little longer, but yeah."

That dude is f-ing brilliant. Absolutely love him.

So you agree with his views.:wtf:

There's another not-so-well-known proverb I like even better...

"Stretch your arm no farther than your sleeve."

Think about it. It applies on this thread.

Maybe I am not following you.😕

I commented on your apparent trolling. You responded with the "so you agree with him wtf" non sequitur.

Don't mistake my disagreement for the manner in which you criticize copro for agreement with and defense of everything he says.

That's all.

Just because a dude is smart and talented doesn't mean he's not bitter. And said dude has been especially bitter since November.

He is a CA3. From my experience so far as a CA1, a bitter CA3 is not an uncommon occurence.

IMO, the worst possible tat on a girl is on the chest/breast.

Pretty bad, but I am thinking the worst is some dude's name tattooed on the back. I suppose to remind said dude that he is the boss when...

Of course that also can lead to a really embarrassed anesthesiologist...

Picture POD dropping in the epidural on the 5cm multip right between the s and the h of the T'ayshaun tattoo. Tape that sucker up and turn to babydaddy. "So T'ayshaun do you have a name for baby?"

Never made that mistake again.

I guess T'ayshaun was an ex.

Now I'm really confused. What are you talking about? Your defending copro but you do or don't agree with him?

Man, this really isn't that deep or complicated. 🙂

Now I'm really confused. What are you talking about? Your defending copro but you do or don't agree with him?

Agree with him about what? Tattoos - somewhat. Sarah Palin - no. Needed health care reforms - mostly.

It's possible to disagree with someone and still respect that person's opinion and/or the way he presents or defends it.

I found your criticism of copro in this thread distasteful because of the manner in which you did it. I wasn't so much agreeing or disagreeing with him about anything in particular; he doesn't need my defense in any case. I was simply criticizing you for acting like a troll.

Nothing deeper or more profound than that.

So you disagree with me, or do you agree with me?

You didn't like my resident comment or the nurse thing?

But you do agree with him, right?

I am really hoping that my program doesn't have a.. holes that would think less of me because I have a tatoo or two.
I wonder if people who have such strong opinions ever left the US, were surrounded by different culture, met people that look different then them and got to know them.

I judge girls with tats. Except for little ones of dolphins and flowers and the like.
