Glumetza vs. extended release metformin

Hi everyone. Just curious... Is there any data to support that Glumetza is a better product than extended release metformin (Glucophage ER)? better meaning better GI tolerability than it's generic counterpart and more dramatic decrease in A1c? or is all this stuff just a bunch of hooey and a way to get more $$ in the manufacturer's pockets?
