I spend $140 applying to your school and you choose to reject me (for whatever reason) and you can't even sign my rejection letter?

For shame.

LOL! You should burn their letter. I'm saving up my rejections for a big ass bonfire (after, of course, i finally get excepted somewhere). But, for what it's worth, I think most of us who did get a Case interview were put "On Hold" which means that we'll just get our rejections later than you. Best of luck to you, I hope you get better news from somewhere else 🙂

I've already gotten in elsewhere....it's the principal of the thing  😀

I completely agree with you. Not only did I spend a $140 dollars applying to that damn school, but I spent more freaking money on a hotel room in Cleveland and gas money to get to my interview. The morning of the interview, I blew out a tire because of the crater-filled roads in Cleveland and I had to throw down another $300 dollars to get my car repaired. I pushed on through this car trouble and despite the fact that I was really sick, and finally made it to my interview, only to be met by a weird guy who heckled me the whole time and made it clear that I was inadequate and that he didn't want me going there.

Yeah, F*** you Case Western.
Not to intentionally break up the hostility, but where does the 140 come in, 85 + 30 + ???

I am glad that I wasn't the only one who noticed the terrible street conditions in Cleveland.

There really ought to be a procedure to report behavior like this.

Ya know reading this gets me angry.

I'm gonna vent on another school too: Jefferson. Every other rejection I received was Dear Mr. King: ; Jefferson worded it: Dear Lion...... Really Dean Callahan? Since I didn't even interview there, i didn't know we were on a first name basis!

Did these guys even know how to write a business letter?

Yeah I hate it when ppl I barely know call me Triple lol

this is funny

if its "Dear Public" - get back, you don't know me like that. we ain't friends baby.

if its "Dear Mr. Enemy" - why you gotta be so cold and unfeeling? can't you personalize it.

unless it has the words "congratulations, accepted, pleased, offer, seat, class of 2009" etc. really, i just don't want it.

ahahaha... "Dear Mr. Enemy"

eh how's Case's campus? i've heard there's a lot of high crime around that area.

Plenty.....

Its probably the same as any other urban/inner-city campus - very safe as long as you stay within a 5 block radius, but very suspect after dark.

Shouldn't be an issue if you're single, but if u've a family, then might be a little different.

Yeah, high crime arond Case. CCLCM is even worse! :scared: A recent NYT article described it as located in a "dismal area of Cleveland" Sounds like hopkins!
The area around Case isn't nearly that bad, and while the Cleveland Clinic's neighborhood is sketchier, neither hold a candle to what Hopkins is reputed to be, though I have no first hand experience. Honestly, I felt comfortable walking around the Case area alone (and lost), but I probably wouldn't want to do that at night.

Having been at hopkins, and now at case, i can testify that the Case campus is much safer. nothing has really happened since i got here, and almost everyone lives within walking distance of school, which also means almost everyone lives in a safe area. Case isnt really in downtown cleveland, its closer to the burbs.

is CCLCM in that really bad of a neighborhood? i mean yeah it wasnt pretty but i didnt think it was dangerous? i even took the bus from the RTA to cleveland clinic....i thought it was ok. not dangerous. different POV i guess in regards to what is "safe"

just a little tip i learned in government class.

if a cop puts on his sirens that signals you to pull over and its at night, and you're not really sure that the vehicle is a cop, DONT STOP, just keep on goign to the nearest police station, don't go too fast but not to slow, but just keep on goign til you find a well-lit place with lots of people and/or a police station.

Odds are the car will go away if its not a real cop, becauseyou have the LEGAL right to do this.

Happened in NYC, some fradulent police car pulled over someone, and the person got killed.

So wait a minute- didn't they reject you and not even sign the rejection letter? What happened?

you do realize that your spelling makes your statement mean the exact opposite of what I believe you intended, right?

heh, not to attack grammar, but I just think it's funny when things like this appear

but if you were meaning to say that you haven't been rejected anywhere, and you've only been given acceptances, then excuse my entirely inappropriate comment

ehhh, back to studying.

Case cashed my check and then lost my application. I only find out because I got an interview at CCCLM. When I called up, I got the "who are you?"

I got to CCCLM campus at night to meet my host and the place was on a pretty serious lockdown with passcards and codes. The taxi driver said it's pretty dangerous and was unwilling to let me out anywhere other than the entrance. Still, once inside the reserach facilities were in a class of their own. CCCLM is well respected in my field so I had high expectations, but they easily surpassed my expectations.

depends on where your coming from, when i was in cleveland it looked pretty safe to me, i travelled the rail at night, but im coming from east vancouver.......its a city, not your burb with white picket fences, and little grittiness never hurt no one lol

Those of you that were rejected--was it after you were put 'on hold'?
