Amen brother! How did you like those recent rocket attacks? Taliban have a wild hair up their arse.

It´s kind of funny. The media blew that one way out of proportion. Basically, it was like a mosquito biting a buffalo. The Taliban have absolutely no clue how to use a rocket and 99% of the time miss their target.

IED blasts are what scare the hell out of me. One happened right outside our gate the other day on a road I travel on occasionally...

Be Careful Caver Man. We thank you.

Actually they didn't. It barley made the news. I got my info from a friend who is at Kandahar.

One of my friends from high school was killed by an IED about 3 years ago. He was the youngest soldier from Queens, NY to die in the war. 🙁

Sorry to hear that. It's amazing how many people have given their lives for defending the freedom of our country.

Yeah, the day he turned 17 he had his mom drive him down the the recruitment station so he could sign the enlistment papers. Then the day after graduation from high school he went off to boot camp.

He was promoted twice, got selected as Battalion Soldier of the Month twice and was a weapon repair specialist. He wasn't supposed to go on that patrol. We stopped keeping in touch after I graduated high school (one year earlier). So the day after he was killed, I opened up the newspaper as part of my regular breakfast routine, went to page 5 and I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

He has a street named after him here in Queens now.
