I'm doing minimal moonlighting and I've made about $1000 doing 2.5 shifts in urgent care (currently getting paid like I'm being trained since I'm new, now graduated to big boy status and will make PA pay!!! :/ )
Oh, I know. I'm trying to have a thick skin and a decent sense of humor about this. But, some of the posts in the last day certainly didn't help my self-esteem. I'm a delicate flower. 🙂

I think you have lived a very sheltered life where everything has been done for you, has fallen into your lap or you have been greatly assisted in your ventures. You likely have never had to figure things out for yourself or go after things on your own.
To not think of getting a cheap free license; To not think of actually calling a few recruiters but expecting the right ones to call you, to think that you have to use FVCS to get a license. I see a total lack of research on your part. Expecting everything to work out with other people's assistance. And your SO? Do have they not thought of this as well?
How did you manage to get thru medical school?
I had a similar situation after finishing residency where my fellowship fell thru and I did what one poster has mentioned. I researched the cheapest quickest license out there, and moved out of state for a little while for a job, because I was broke and needed to work ASAP. Was out of a job for five months.

seriously, you could even get free stuff on Craigslist then turn around and sell it for a little here and there... but you need somewhere to put that money that you can't easily spend it

dude, I would get a cardboard sign and rat myself up and sit by the highway (if such panhandling is legal.. look into that... usually all the cops will do is ask you to move along especially if you're in a spot that isn't the safest spot to hang out in, usually the excuse they have to give) before I would beg off my social media platform... do a good job and no one will recognize you, you're more likely to keep your dignity intact that way ffs
social media begging just seems like the laziest form of begging ever... at least with the cardboard sign you're putting in the effort to be bored and stuck outside like a lot of jobs, if you're going to beg at least go old school classy
just be careful some of the best spange-ing (street slang for "spare change-ing") spots are "claimed" by people you might not want to mess with
another way to do it is to dress nice and hang out by a payphone and just keep asking for quarters to make a call home, I know people who have been homeless before that have made $5 an hour doing it, people are more willing to help you out this way than other varieties of street begging
standards aren't as high at your local strip club as you might think, the fact it's your first night can make you a looooot of money, don't worry if you got the clothes or the moves, you might want a wig though to hide your identity
in one night you can make $500 and be at least halfway to many of those medical licenses
