Could anyone with experience tell me how they achieved this?

I got my score yesterday--a 30S. I'd done all the practice tests, and this was right on my practice test average.

I am considering retaking in September and aiming for a substantially higher score. But I feel like I've exhausted a lot of resources--I did all the AAMC tests, for example. I also did the EK 101 Verbal Passages book (the old edition, which had more questions). Besides finding an LSAT book for passages, I don't know what to do differently this time...

Does anyone have any suggestions? Or should I just go ahead and apply this cycle?

Go ahead and apply. 30 is a very respectable score. As long as it's balanced, I'd say keep it. In fact, I wouldn't ever recommend retaking above a 30 unless it's really unbalanced, or you know you could've done much better (a practice average around 40, for instance).

To get to the 35+ range, you'll great verbal skills (achieved through thorough analysis and lots of practice), and a deep understanding of pretty much every concept.

you should consider using berkeley review material or take a princeton review course. this is because these are the two sources I know that will really push you hard enough to make that great of an improvement.

TBR exams as well.

Lots of practice passages. Make sure that you don't keep doing them wrong over and over again as that will ingrain bad habits.

is TBR The Berkley Review and do they reflect well on what you would actually make on the MCAT?

I think that their style of asking questions is very good.

A lot of the questions on the MCAT, you can answer if you have good knowledge and you apply those principles. The TBR exams really force you to reason your way to the answer a lot.

They were great practice for me before I moved to the AAMCs. Lets see what happens when I actually take the real thing in a week.
