Well, more power to him I guess. I am sure he has enough money to live comfortably. He seems like a pretty smart guy (if a bit self-satisfied) and I'd think he'll get bored after a while with no job/occupation. Maybe he just needs a more laid back job, and/or charity or something, to occupy himself.

The farewell letter is pretty good until you get to the last paragraph (about legalizing hemp/marijuana), which is totally off if left field.

I guess he's off on some beach smoking a joint now...LOL!
