Sorry if this has been discussed already, but I signed up for the Kaplan review course, which covers every topic...but I have been using Goljan for path (which I love). The reviews on Amazon for his biochem book were positive...but I was wondering if anyone else who had experience with the book can offer some insight.

Thanks!

RR Biochem is a solid book, but so is Kaplan Biochem. Its a win-win situation. Just pick one source and learn it.

Attempted to use RR biochem, found it to be way too dense for me. Kaplan was a quick read and found that it followed FA much more closely.

Was reading the Kaplan still worthwhile despite not having the videos (have 2002 version given to me, not sure if that's too old)? How quickly were you able to get through it?

I just finished reviewing biochem/genetics over the past 3 days so of those you guys mentioned Kaplan videos were good in giving a thorough background. RR had alot of extra details beyond what kaplan did and the 350 questions that RR comes with free helped drive those home. It is tough to say to what detail you need to know things though since the stuff I went through in the RR was clearly way detailed beyond FA and you probably only get a couple of questions that are that nitpicky on the actual test. Kaplan was very good in giving me the overall viewpoint with a guy talking to me which is easier than reading a book.

take notes into first aid as you watch the kaplan vids--thats what i did--solid

The video lectures make it easy to comprehend sections that u probably dont understand, and it help it to stick better in your head aswell.

Since I'm such an altruistic person, I like to share my things with strangers..
but only if they fill out a survey so I can make money or possibly put a virus on unsuspecting users..
but my intentions are pure.

-first of all that surveys r added by my webhost! i m not getting a penny for that!i just passed step 1 and i m really sharing!
-we r all of us medstudents, just suppose that we were in students in the same med school!is there a problem with sharing books!!
-i believe that poor med students have the right to get the best books!
-then u r talking about viruses!!! please thats paranoia!!!!!it doesn t work like that man!

Just so you know, there is no positive correlation between a valid argument and the number of exclamation marks in a statement.

I really don't care about your stupid website or those naive enough to use it. There are plenty of other "free" resources out there. I just don't like it when the whole "for the people" platform is used when it's clear that you're only trying to make money (or put viruses) on people's computers. It's interesting how much that irritates you since you know it will drive people away and you won't get more clicks on your website.
