I found out yesterday that I have been accepted as a transfer student to UNC-Chapel Hill. My ultimate goal is to make it into Pharmacy School next Fall. As I will be there for a while, I am looking for a good apartment complex or housing area that will allow me (and my dog ~30 lbs) to live quietly. I would prefer to have amenities and utilities included but will look at anything that allows pets.

There are a lot of websites out there with plenty of ads but I want to go straight to the source. Anybody lived in an apartment complex in Chapel Hill that was awesome?

I have a few bookmarked already...

Baity Hill at Mason Farm ($930)
Chapel View ($795)

Any suggestions?

I lived in Chamber Ridge Apartments in Carrboro. I really enjoyed it there although I wasn't attending UNC at the time. http://www.chambersridgeapartments.com/floorplans.asp It's located in a good spot of town from what I remember. On the other side of the 54, there are huge apartment complexes but I would stay away from those, they are a little run down. The cool thing about Chapel Hill/Carrboro is that they have an excellent transportation system. You can really take advantage of the public transportation/buses. They are free and can get you anywhere you want to go.

It doesn't really say anything about utilities being included. I really like the layout of the 2 Bedroom, but unless it has included utilities the only different thing about it from $930 is I know it is Pet-Friendly. I wish there were a directory of all the utility included apartments.

That would be awesome. Thanks for the tip-off. I will contact them about utilities.

I live in Chapel Hill and I would STRONGLY suggest that you look via Craigslist. There are tons of places on there (I actually found my condo on Craigslist). Unless you want to live uber close to campus, there are some great complexes near Southpoint and in the Southern Durham area. Chapel Hill real estate is far more expensive than anything in the closely surrounding areas.

Thanks. It seems to have more options that is for sure. I will look into it further.

That is good to hear. I only watch television shows on the internet, so if the internet is cable then I will be fine. Thanks for letting me know. That puts those on my list at the top.

As long as I get the local news then it will be fine.

Thanks!
