I am going into my 3rd yr undergrad this fall. Do you think it's a good idea to apply as a "practice" run and hope for some kind of miracle with my current cumulative 78% average (~3.5)?

I doubt my application will be strong. I have not even found a science prof to write me a LOR and have not wrote the DAT yet.

But my friend told me it is always good to apply as early as you can, so if you don't get in the first try, your chance increases the next try cuz the admission committee would remember you from last year. Does it sounds like a good advice? Anyone applying as a 3rd yr undergrad with this kind of mentality? Or am I just waste my application fees?

THANKS!😛

I applied after two years and was accepted after three, but my application was stronger than yours. (3.9, 20, and lots of good admissions stuff) I think it is a good idea if you can take the DAT soon enough and have a good enough score to get an interview. If that is not the case, wait. As is, you are going to be near the end of the application cycle if you are only now talking about taking the DAT. It can be done though.

Anyway, here's to being a doctor but never a bachelor...
