So when considering away EM rotations one thing I want to factor in is how much of a true "curriculm" the rotation has. Do you guys know of or have you been to any outstanding allopathic EM rotations where the teaching was just head and shoulders above other rotations you did? I have heard Indiana is great and a few others. One I like the look of (but don't know the quality other than from what it says on the website) is Lehigh Valley. Take a look ( regular rotation- http://www.lvhemres.com/em-elective/ and the enriched rotation- http://www.lvhemres.com/enriched-elective/ ). Know of any others?

I didn't rotate there myself, but Vanderbilt has a reputation for being an outstanding rotation in terms of teaching, especially didactics. It is supposed to be light on the clinical responsibilities, making time for in-depth teaching.

If you want to do EM, Lehigh Valley is a great rotation. The enriched curriculum is a beast but is definitely top notch. I didn't rotate there for my EM rotation but people either love it or hate it and it comes down to if they want to do EM or not, respectively.

For residency its an excellent program, too.

University of Pittsburgh. All your own patients, basically a SubI, 2X per week in the sim lab, opportunities for EMS/flying obs; my best EM rotation as a student hands down.

Thanks, this one has been on my radar since I came across it. I really want to do that one... the only problem is finding the patience until April 1st to apply and hopefully get accepted to it, lol!

Pitt sounds good as well... will have to check that out. Probably only one or two "teaching" type rotations that I can fit into my away/audition schedule (unless they truly double as a legitimate audition AND a teaching rotation like Lehigh) but some good options here...
