hello everyone,

just wondering if anyone can recommend a good textbook on feline medicine? preferably geared towards vet students. it should be something that covers basic anatomy and physiology, as well as clinical stuff.

i have a cat at home, and would like to know a bit more about her :)

thanks in advance for the help!

IMO, there's not one book that adequately covers feline anatomy, physiology and internal medicine -- it's too broad.

For feline int. med. I like August's "Consultations in Feline Int. Med." The current is volume 5. They are like the Kirk CVT series in that each volume covers somewhat different topics.

"The feline patient" ed. by Norsworthy et al. is pretty good too. The current one is the 3rd edition I think.

Ettinger's and Nelson and Couto both cover both canine and feline int. med. very well. Ettinger is more complete while Nelson and Couto is a bit more of a quick reference.

There's probably others I don't know about.
