Since B-glucose has the OH pointing up on the anomeric carbon while alpha-glucose has the OH pointing down, here's a sure way to remember it...

Think of B as in boner that points up haha.

You'll remember this for the rest of your life. You can thank me later if it comes up on your exam.

Hey, whatever works...

LOL!!!!! HAHA THATS awesome bro! Or if there is someone more mature than us you can think of it this way:

B-baloon goes up
A-alpha sign is shaped like a fish so it swims on bottom of ocean (goes down)

But I like OP's idea better 🙂

I do it by following the same trend in how i draw a alpha and betta symbol.

alpha- start the pen on the top right and loop it and continue the bottom right segment downwards.
beta- starting at the top, i continue the bottom left segment in the same circular motion going up.

give it a try and see if it perhaps works for you also.

Nah, too much work. The boner method works better.

Regardless of what method someone uses to remember alpha and beta, I don't think anyone would get those wrong after reading this thread.
