Got a 1.2 in my non-prereq science course. How badly will this hurt my chances?

you should probably contact each school you applied to and ask because they all work differently. The one i will be going to requires a B or better in all of my remaining courses or they may withdraw the admission offer. A 1.2 may affect your chance to get an interview because you can't exactly explain yourself in the already submitted pharmcas essay and supplemental apps. MWU-glendale does closed-file interview so at least you won't be asked about this during the interview 😀

I agree with the previous post, verify with the school. I applied to UW Seattle and UM Baltimore and the average GPA they take is a little higher than 3.1 so it might hurt, but at the same time it might not.

I know that UW Seattle look at higher level courses more than general courses, so if you got an A in gen bio but this D+ they might consider this more. When they calculated my prereq GPA they used my higher level courses. I believe their interview is open file so they might ask you about it.

Good luck!

You got a 1.2 overall for that semester (all classes)? Or was it just in that course?

it was literally just that class.... My overall for the quarter was a 2.7 because of the significantly lower GPA for that particular class.
Luckily my overall was only lowered by .02 because I am a senior who is graduating this spring!

You're fine than, if it was in all of your classes, you'd have a problem. Since it was just in that one class you can just re-take it.
