I got this email this morning.
Dear Medicine Mamba,
As you were notified in the AMCAS application, you have applied to at least one medical school that is participating in the AMCAS-facilitated Criminal Background Check Service, through which Certiphi Screening, Inc. (a Vertical Screen(R) Company) will procure a background report on applicants with certain types of admission actions.
Background checks will begin after January 1 for all conditionally accepted applicants, except for Early Decision Program (EDP) applicants. If you were conditionally accepted under the Early Decision Program, your background check will begin immediately upon your conditional acceptance.
If you are placed on a participating school's alternate list, that school may request that a background check be procured.
When your background check is started, Certiphi Screening, Inc. will send an email with additional information to your preferred email. To ensure that you receive this communication, please:
* Ensure your preferred email address is up to date at all times. Remember, if you make an allowable change, to officially submit your application by 1) clicking on the 'Resubmit Application' button on the Main Menu, and 2) re-certifying the application. Your changes will not be saved otherwise.
* Add [email protected] as a trusted email address.
For a fee, you may procure your own report from Certiphi Screening, Inc. in advance of the AMCAS-facilitated report by going tohttps://www.applicationstation.com/home/cal.asp?rc=CERTAP2019. Please note that this optional report is not required and it does not take the place of the report to be procured for medical schools.
