hey! thats awesome! congrats!...if u dont mind me asking what were ur stats/ i really want to go to xavier in 07,in fact its the onli school im applying to. im so worried because i heard they consider their own student first and im all the way in texas, i attend baylor university. did u previously attend xavier?

Thank you, and congratulations to you too! Isn't it the best feeling in the world when you find out you got accepted? It feels better than winning the lottery! To me at least. Well, it's not like I experienced winning the lottery, but you know what I mean. 😀

Woohoo! I just got my acceptance letter today! I had to work this morning, and I was calling home all day asking if the mail man came yet. He usually comes around 12pm, but today he was late. Anyways, I left work early, got home at 3:20 pm, and the mail man just reached my mail box when I pulled into the drive way. I looked through my mirror to see if he put an 8"x11" envelope in, and he did. I ran to the mail box, saw it was from Xavier, and I dropped everything on the ground and opened it. Once I saw "Congratulations! ", I became the happiest woman on this earth!

Did anyone else get their letters from Xavier yet? Good luck, and I hope you guys get accepted!

My stats really weren't that great... I had a 3.0 for my overall gpa and pre-pharm. Yes, I did hear they accept their own students first, however I am not a Xavier student, nor did I ever attend Xavier previously. I attended UNO ( University of New Orleans). Xavier accepts 180 students each year from what I heard. My friend told me that they were going to start accepting more non-Xavier students, so you do have hope. Plus, Xavier was just recently given a $100,000,000 grant to expand their College of Pharmacy, so they can accept more students. Honestly... what I think got me accepted was God. I literally prayed every single night for the past six months, hoping I would get accepted to Xavier, since it was the only school I applied to.
One more thing, Xavier said GPA is not the number one factor for determining if you get accepted or not. They said the number one factor was your three letter of recommendations, second was your statement of interest, you have to sell yourself in your statement of interest since there are no personal interviews and lastly, is your GPA. I haven't gotten my letter Either, I'm trying to be patience about it, but it's not working, and I still have pre-req's to take. I Just dished out the Tution at UNO for the MEdical ethic class and 2 others, and today was the last day to pay tuition(purge) and last day that you would get 100% refund. So I'll lose about $800 buck if I don't get accepted. I took the chance and I paid it. I just don't know, I was pretty confident at one point, but my confidence has diminished a lot. What do you think My chances are. I have like a 3.4 pharmacy pre-req. A 3.0 overall with about 130 hours. I've had a couple of major changes. Mainly different science major. I think I went wrong when, all 3 of my Letters OF Recommendation were from Pharmacist. I am a licensed Technician. Been working for Wal-mart for two years. I did mention it in my Personal Statement about what a great joy it was to help these people and how i've developed a great love for it. I expected to get some sort of acceptance or denial letter Today, I'm right there in Gonzales, La. And I talked to a girl that got hers in Atlanta. So that makes me nervous.

On a side note, I might not be able to keep my seat for pharmacy school...
I spoke to Xavier today about my missing Theology class. They told me if I don't complete it by Aug. 18, I will not be able to enroll in their pharmacy school; I would have to apply again next year. 🙁
No other schools in New Orleans is offering summer semester due to hurricane Katrina. They are now in their "Spring '06" semester for this summer, which started over a month ago. So I am late! I applied to the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX today. They only have 14 seats left open for their Theology class. I'm scared by the time I get to register, it will be closed.

I hope you do get accepted, you deserve it! Your summers sounds very hectic. Maybe the mail in slow in your area? That's why you didn't receive your letter yet. I'm still a nervous wreck, because my seat in pharmacy school is not 100% official until I complete my Theology class. That's if I even get into UST's theology class. I have to spend $2,000 for that one Theology class at UST. There goes $2,000 out of my bank account. Plus, I have to quit my job now, since I will move to Houston for this whole summer.

It's called Religion @LSU and any level is a Xavier pre-req. The summer session started today, but i'm not sure of the last day to register or if it's passed. I know we have a system purge Thursday and that's the last day to add., so thursday may be the last for alot of things.

Thanks for the info. I asked Xavier about online courses, and they said they do not accept any online courses at all. I have to take it on campus. I think I might just stick to going to UST, since I doubt I'll be able to make it for LSU, and missing a week of school might hurt me.

They accept anything that S.A.C something(southern something, fogot the initials) accredited. If you asked someone in the school of pharmacy, they really don't know crap. I hope you didn't talk to that lady, not the desk clerk, but the really rude blunt one, who she would tranfers you too. She was no help at all, all she could do was shove out these generic answers and whole face. I got a chance to talk to Randall Sch. and he started off by telling me that he wasn't sure about accepting online classes, but then he told me that he didn't know because COP didn't deal with that and to talk with someone in admissions, So I Called the Admissions Office, and then they talked to the transfer specialist(is what she call it), who actually decides if the classes are legit. The only Online classes I asked about was a World of Religion Class with Pheonix and they said that Pheonix was something they accepted. You can call again and asked them, but I wouldn't talk to anyone in the COP. IF you don't get into UST, it's always something to consider.

Im in the same boat-I live in LA and I didnt receive my letter but there is good news. Student Affairs at Xavier called me this morning and told me that another batch of letters would be sent out today- so keep your fingers crossed.

I called yesterday and left two messages with the office of student affairs. They called me this morning and just told me that they were still mailing out letters. Believe me...I asked whether or not the letters were acceptance or rejection. The lady said they were sending out another batch of letters.
