Well, if anyone remembers my thread from exactly four weeks ago today(The same day I took Step 1), they will recall that I felt '"iffy" about my performance. I was so nervous that my hand was uncontrollably making a lot of noise shaking on the mouse throughout the first two blocks. I felt good about many questions that were similar to Qbank but I had missed so many give-aways and there were quite a few questions that I had no idea what they wanted or what the answers were(many were from biochem, a subject I basically ignored for the most part due to time constraint).
I felt like I could of had just as much a chance of having failed that test as passed it when I walked out of it but as the days went on, I convinced myself that I had failed. I kept remembering more questions in which I had gotten wrong and soon went into the one of the most depressive stages of my life for the past couple of weeks. I was thoroughly convinced that no one had felt as worse as I did after about a week of taking the test.
Well, I got my score back today and I got a 217 on the test. I know this is nothing stellar but I wasn't concerned with anything stellar at this point...I just wanted to pass so I can one day become a doctor. And I am being candid about my score because I want those who may be feeling down about not-so-glamorous Qbank scores to relax and feel better about the exam(although this may not help the gunners).
I still feel that Qbank played the biggest role in my being able to pass this test. Although it was hard for me to focus much during my studies, Qbank helped me to grasp concepts I just slept over during my readings and there were quite a bit of questions on my exam that were very similar to Qbank questions.
My Qbank performance were mostly in the high fifties for a looooong time throughout my studying before I even began to see the some 60s and rare 70s(toward the end of completion) and even more rare 80s. By the time I had finished Qbank, my average was a measly 58%. I won't even mention my scores in the beginning.
My school performance was like a see-saw. I honored a few classes, barely passed some, and got average scores in others.
Well, at this point, if I can give any advice it would be this:
Do not count yourself out until you see your score!
If you averaged high fifties in Qbank, you should be okay, especially if you just relax during the exam.
Good luck to you all!!!!
