Has any Oregon residents received OHSU's secondary?

not me. anyone know when the first in state secondaries were given out?

Your are so right, Oh I just got the UCSF secondary, I am so excited. WOw, I was having problems with my email and after an hour I opened it and there it was. Wow, I feel special. I know it is just a secondary, but you know, when one has been working toward this goal for a long time, any little positive thing is worth so much at least in my life....

I'm filling my secondary out for UCSF as we speak so i can send it off before post office closes at 6. Gotta beat the rush. It should take a day for local post office to send to ucsf since it's only 20 blocks away.

well there's no essays for this so there's no slacking on this at all. Unless you are applying into JMP or MSTP. then you got lots to write.

I think i'm gonna try the Joint-medical program. I remember attending info sessions in berkeley regarding this. it seemed very appealing.

Californians, I recommend that you all withdraw from OHSU because you'll hate it here in Oregon. We NEVER honk at other drivers! You're going to feel out of place. Also, you'll probably experience an allergic reaction to clean air.

The letter I got in the mail said that the login and password for the secondary are unique to each applicant. Sorry!! That's strange that residents haven't received notification yet. When were you verified? I was verified 07/18..



PS: I'm just tired of pumping my own gas.. That's the main reason I'm applying to OHSU! 😀

Ah yes, just one of the many perks of living in the Beaver State. I think the lack of a sales tax is better than not having to pump your own gas though.

Finally, some California love! I got the UCSF secondary today, too!!! And my FIRST screened secondary (verified since late June). I don't even have any mcat scores yet, but I AM on the eccentric side. 😀

Problem: I sent Drexel's secondary off with a personal check after forgetting that they didn't accept one (yeah I'm a dumb@ss). I guess I'll just call the office Monday and work it out with admissions..

OHSU used a standard user name/ password last year. It is shown in that sticky with all the application info at the top of the main pre-allo page.

I was verificated on the 27th of july...one month ago tomorrow. I guess now that I see it in writing it really hasn't been that long. I believe they send to in state people in the second "batch". I'll keep waiting. I'll keep waiting for MSU, UWash, Indiana, and winning the lottery too.

How long does it usually take the various status pages to be updated with LOR reception?

Oh Damn! I did the same thing! I can't believe I didn't notice it. I've read so many secodnaries at this point that nothing is actually sticking. OK. I guess I'll call them also. 😳

i am so psyched! i had given up. i was verified early and still didn't get it until now, so nobody should give up hope!

From the secondaries that I've filled out, about half of them required photos. A few allowed the picture to be uploaded online (such as Loma Linda, CWRU, MCW). Others requested that the picture be mailed in (UMiami, UCI i think? and a few others) even though the secondary was available online.

I got a bunch of passport photos for those that asked me to mail it in. Then I scanned my photo for those secondaries that ask for an uploaded file.

Today I came home and found a postcard from the University of Chicago, saying the following:

No big deal, I think. I keep getting all kinds of secondary invites after I have been complete at these schools (Tulane, for example).


They just automatically send them to each applicant, probably both by email and by mail. It is obvious they send the postcard just in case you didn't get the email.

Although... I didn't get their postcard. Probably Monday.

I have been at OHSU for a couple of years and have to say I hate it. I don't know why I was ever conviced that I couple live here. It rains all the time and I am absolutely miserable. I thought when I first began, what differencedoes it make where you go to medical school, there're all about the same and you have to take all the same tests, you know, the USLME step 1,2 and 3. But I have to say, moving to Portland was big mistake. The people out here are just little backwards and they don't have the edge that you see so frequenctly in the great state of California. People just seem two uptight and unaware of the important things they should be worriying about. I know that seems like it is hypocritical,l but people here just think Californias are stuck up and we think we know everything. They treat me like I am from another country and I think they're inferior.

People in Oregon have a major inferiority complex to California. It's not my fault the weather, the people and the moderness of California is so far ahead of Oregon. I mean serioulsy, California was built on Gold and Oregon was built on Lumber, do you really want a plaid wearing hill billy to tell you that you have cancer. I don't think so.

Do yourself a favor and stay in California, Oregon just sucks, too much rain and crazy liberals that think Californians are just stupid outsiders that only care about surfing and being "cool". Good luck with all your applications, the process truely sucks, but you can do it!

they come surface mail, so expect them sometime this week or early next week. friends who were verified a month after i was, got them yesterday simply becuase they live near boston, so they probably aren't date-organized batches

You're afraid of water? Man... you're going to have a hard life! It could be time to soon face that fear.

As for Harvard's app. Only HST and MD/PhD applicants have extra essays. The MD one is pretty quick n easy.
