For those of you who have been accepted or rejected from Goucher post-interview, would you mind sharing how you were notified?

Thanks! 🙂

I was notified of acceptance by letter about a week after my interview. I know that some other people in my class were first notified of their acceptance by phone, however.

I interviewed on a Friday, then received an email from the admissions committee on Monday saying that I had been accepted to the fall 2008 class. The same Monday that I received the email, the admissions committee sent a letter confirming my acceptance and requesting a deposit in order to hold a spot in next year's class.

Stats? And congrats.

Thanks very much. I had a 3.96 from a very good liberal arts school and a 1470 on the SAT. Other than that, I played tennis in college and only recently started to volunteer in a hospital.

I phone interviewed on a Thursday and received an email on the following Tuesday...then again, I´m currently living out of the country so I think that´s probably why I didn´t get a phone call.

I live in the US and received a letter, not a phone call, a couple weeks after I interviewed early this fall.

I interviewed on a Friday and got the email the following Wednesday saying the packet was coming in the mail.

I received notification of acceptance by email (I am out of the country) two weeks after my phone interview and one week after being notified that my app had been placed on hold. They said a letter was in the mail.

I interviewed on a Friday and received my acceptance via a letter in the mail the following Saturday (so a week +1 day later).

I think the committee has set days that they meet, and so when you find out seems to depend on how long after your interview the committee is meeting. I interviewed on a Friday and received my acceptance letter in the mail almost two weeks later (on a Thursday). Good luck!

Yes, true. The committee does have regular, set meetings. At these meetings they discuss candidates (both those who have interviewed and those who have applied but not yet been invited to interview) where they will make decisions.

In addition to acceptances and rejections, they may put the application "oh hold." Now while this might seem like a rejection to some, I have several classmates in the current post-bac class who were "on hold" and later accepted.

I interviewed on a Monday. They told me I should hear a decision within a week. After two weeks, and still no email/call/letter, I decided to check into it and emailed them. Apparently the committee had just met the day I emailed, and they told me I was in (!!!!), but the letter wouldn't be sent out until Wednesday.

So if I had been completely patient, it would have taken me about 3 weeks to get the letter in the mail. Supports that it depends on when you interview relative to committee meetings.

Good luck everyone!

runner, were applicants placed "on hold" only after interviews or were there "hold" piles even to get an interview? just trying to clear it all up. thank you!
