hello, i was just wondering if anyone was going to use a government program to finance med school, i.e. air force, army, navy, or another service commitment program. the programs seem to have a lot of benefits since they cover tuition, provide a monthly allowance, and cover malpractice insurance during the years of service. the only things that might be negative is that you have less freedom to practice where you want to and your salary might be lower ... although you wouldn't have any loans to pay back! can anyone give me any more info or advice? thanks.

Search the site for HPSP-health professions scholarship programs. These are administered by the Army/Navy/Airforce. They pay for your tuition in return for a service committment. I'm in the program

Then, you have the USUHS - a medical school run by the armed forces.

Then you have National Health Corps Scholarship - pays for your school in return for you working as a PCP in a low-income community
