If I have a 'W' on my transcript from college in chemistry, and a B from a human biology/anatomy class from high school (that counted toward college credit), can I retake a similar class somewhere else and have it replace the GPA in the science gpa? Or does it have to be the same course number from the school you originally obtained the grade?

Thank you.

Not sure how this is relevant for this forum. You'll get 400 answers to this in pre-allo with a passionate discussion of the minute details.

But generally:

MD schools don't forgive the old grade when you repeat a course.

DO schools do forgive the old grade when you repeat a course. The applicant designates which course is a repeat of which course, and a retake doesn't have to be at the same school with the same number etc.

In both cases all courses are listed on the report that goes to the schools.
