This semester (my next to last as an undergrad) has been my worst so far... I lost nearly all motivation to go to class, study, write papers, etc. And now it looks as though I'll be getting 4 B's and an A, for a gpa of ~3.2 for the semester. This will be about a .5 drop from my overall gpa... How big a deal is this? Will adcoms see this most recent semester and immediately be turned off to my application?

I am going through the same phase.

Everyone always talks about having a positive upward trend in your GPA, but I got a 4.0 in all my freshman classes and now things are getting harder (junior year). I'm not going to fall through the floor or anything, but how big of a jolt is something that would make adcoms question you?

If you already turned in your AMCAS then this dip won't have any effect on you unless you don't get into medical school. Assuming you don't, it won't have that big of an effect since B's and A's are ACTUALLY GOOD GRADES. What the hell is wrong with some of you people?

The sick thing is that Bs alone just aren't good enough. This process turns us all into freaks.

yeah Im rounding home with a 3.2 this year unless I step it up a notch

It just makes me think for a few minutes when all of my friends are incredibly proud of themselves for getting a B.... And I generally remember not to voice my distress at the fact that if I don't spend enough time studying I might end up with a B.

Sure, if it's more A's than B's, but it's just a fact that a 3.2 isn't a very competitive GPA.

I imagine that a dip in grades the fall of senior year is very common, due to the amount of time required for the applying and interviewing process (as well as the inevitable senioritis...). It's nothing to worry about.

The OP already has a 3.7, this is just one semester, 3.67 is a very competitive GPA.

I'm feeling the senioritis as well. I've already been accepted to my top choice, but this is turning out to be my toughest semester yet! Do I have anything to worry about? Everyone is telling me to relax, but my proffesors keep piling on the work... 🙁

Try not to get Cs, definitely don't get D's.
