Sorry, I don't mean to sound like a troll complaining about grades. But I'm seriously wondering about this question:
Is there sort of a subjective GPA cutoff for dental school admissions? Like if you have anything above a 3.7, will you be grouped together with all the rest of the people who have between a 3.7-3.8. Is there any significant difference between someone who has a 3.72 and someone who has a 3.76?

There's no way of knowing for sure, though I don't a .05 difference would warrant any serious distinction. Maybe a 3.76 as opposed to a 3.46, then yeah maybe some schools do screen in that way, but anything less than a .2 or .1 difference in GPA seems too insignificant given how many other factors (are supposed to) come into play. Contrary to some med schools, I haven't heard of any dental schools fitting the "numbers *****" role.

Theres no clear answer to that. I wouldnt even worry about it. Focus on studying for the DAT instead.

already done with the DAT, and happy with my score 🙂

22 across the board.

No, i never heard of anything like GPA grouping.
If you have 3.7-3.8 GPA and 22 DAT. You are in a good place. Do some volunteer, shadowing and APPLY IN JUNE.

Apply to 10+ schools. Go go ALL the interviews (except when you have 10+ interviews). Dont be like one of those high GPA people apply to only 3-4 schools and waste another year reapplying.

Lol, your golden! Even though I know that was not the intent if this thread, I'm just letting you know haha

As far as grouping applicants: I'm sure it happens to some degree. I mean look at those who get pre Dec 1st interviews and those who dont. All said and done, I don't think such a small difference would warrant such grouping. Best of luck! 👍

It depends on whether the school has admissions quotas. If they do, then it depends more on your race than your actual statistics but having a high GPA/DAT will obviously help either way.
