OK OK please dont get too angry but i just had to ask: If one has say a overall gpa of 3.7 and a science gpa of 3.5 and above average ecs and letters, etc ,generally, what will be a good MCAT score for him/her to get into "a" US allo med school? thank you!

The magic number is 30. Get a 30 or greater and your chances are good. 29s seem to get in too, but that's cutting it close. Below 29, I'd think DO or apply to both allo and DO.

I say aim for 30 to be safe. With no individual scores lower than 9.

Where do you find the "magic numbers" for schools?

The MSAR, should be one at the library or your pre-med office, will have all of that info.

I have the exact same GPAs as you. I got a 34 on my MCAT, and I'm waitlisted at 3 places (2 MD 1 DO) with 9 rejections. Unfortunately, I submitted my AMCAS in mid-October due to some unforseen circumstances, which probably hurt my chances. Do well on your MCAT (30s) but applying early is also important. I hope you have better luck than me! :luck:

gpa is fine. aim for 10's in each section

Personally I think 30 does nothing for you. Well it did for me at least. I had to get MUCH higher before I started getting to many interview offers and that was with a 3.6 GPA.
