I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight as to how optometry schools determine your gpa. Because I went to one school my first 2 years of college and got a lower gpa from there..roughly a 2.7 and i am finishing up my b.s. at another school after transfering and have about a 3.2. will they just take all the courses from both schools and calculate a gpa or will they look at the 2 separate schools and gpas? this may sound like a dumb question but i was just wondering if anyone knew the specifics. i am obviously worried how the 2.7 looks. thanks for any info. 🙂

each school actually calculates GPA differently... some schools average grades on classes you've retaken... some actually replace the grade. Optometry schools would like to see an upward progression in grades... if you started out slow and got better they like that better. 🙂
