GPA Trend Insecurity, please help

All the other semesters, I did relatively the same (3.7-3.8 range). However, this semester, I didn't do as well as I wanted to: 3.55.

Is GPA looked at yearly or by semester?

Thank you for the response. My yearly Freshman: 3.82, Sophomore: 3.80, and Junior: 3.66.
Is this trend detrimental?

1) yes its detrimental
2) it doesnt matter.

It is the trend that you have and the one you are going to apply with. So stop worrying and speculating about what you cant change and worry about what you can like doing better next term. However, if you are applying this cycle or already have, I would suggest that your original question shows have not looked into how all this works
