Not sure how to approach doing a DIY postbacc, SMP, or applying 2025

I feel like having one low dip in your GPA is a red flag, so I was wondering how screwed I would be with 2 dips.

The first GPA dip occurred while taking dual credit classes in high school (didn't really take school seriously back then tbh, and didn't even consider medical school) and I had a 1.87 GPA over 67 credits (19/67 credits were science courses where I had a 2.95 sgpa). The good thing was that most of my really bad grades were in non-science courses, so it didn't completely destroy my sgpa (although it is still not good). The second dip in my GPA occurred in my third semester at university where my GPA was 1.4 over 13 credits where I dealt with personal issues (I retook all the classes I failed that semester and got A's in all of them).

I already graduated and my current GPA is 2.82 cgpa/3.26 sgpa
3.91 GPA over the last 30 credits, with many A's in upper-division science courses
3.63 GPA over last 60 credits (the tail end of the second dip in my GPA occurred here)
So during my actual time at university (no high school grades) I had a : 3.451 cgpa

I'm hoping schools will at least have some leniency with the first dip in my GPA because it was in high school and was mostly non-science courses.

Taking MCAT 09/24 and aiming for 510 (will this be a sufficient score for my situation?)

Other things to consider: 650 hours of research with one pub and one poster, 350 hours scribing (getting more hours during gap year) + shadowing, volunteering, and all that other juicy stuff

What are your year-by-year GPA's (overall, science/BCPM), to demonstrate your concern?

Have you addressed this concern with admissions professionals at the schools you want to apply to?

High school: 1.87 cgpa/2.95 sgpa
Freshman: 3.87cgpa/4.0 sgpa
Sophomore: 2.68 cgpa/2.64 sgpa
Junior: 3.91 cgpa/ 3.89 sgpa

I have not reached out to any admissions professionals yet. That's part of my to-do list for the summer.

A year of a DIY post bacc since it seems you graduated in 3 years. That limited your opportunity to show a consistent trend in undergrad.
