Whats the significance of having the GPA calculated without the +/-. I see that designation and knew it was there last year but never asked about it. Anyone care to put in some input as to why that is important?

Do a search before starting a thread, sweetie. You'll find a bunch of threads with similar topics.

The GPA without +/- and GPA with equalizes the gpas of appliacnts from schools that use either system of grading. I went to 2 schools and one school used +/- and the other didn't, so it was helpful to show the difference.

GLuck :luck:

which school used the +/- and which one didn't? My gpa w/o is 3.31 instead of 3.22..quite a diff. Damn C-'s..

Just to carry the topic a bit further, you'll find that dental schools also vary in their grading systems. Some use + and -, others use only + and no -, and some use neither.

Of course, in the case of dental schools, the standardization comes more in terms of class rank and Part I scores, when comparing to students accross the country.
