What is a good GPA for entrance into medical school. I know GPA doesn't tell the entire story, but it TELLS A WHOLE LOT. So, what a competitive score, from your experience.

Shoot for a 3.7 to feel competitive is what I think. That by no means implies that you don't stand a chance if it's lower, but I know I'd feel more comfortable with a 3.7 than my current GPA.

It varies a lot from school to school. As with the MCAT, the high the better, but as you said it doesn't tell the whole picture. I think below 3.6 is starting to get into a danger zone, but not all hope it lost. At or below 3.0, and I wouldn't bother applying.

You cant give a link to mdapps to someone w/o letting him/her know that the gpas and mcat scores for that site are incredibly skewed. Based solely on MDapps you'd think you need like a 3.8/35 just to be competitive.

OP, its hard to give a GPA cutoff b/c, like you said, there is so much more to the application than that. People have gotten in to UCSF with 3.3...but thats b/c the rest of their app was stellar.... To be safe, try to keep it above a 3.5/3.6. With a solid MCAT and good ECs you should be fine.
