Gpa

I know this may sound like a stupid question but is it werid to have a higher sGPA then your non science GPA.

Not at all but then again it depends on the difference. If you have a 3.9 cGPA and a 3.0 sGPA that looks bad.

But MOST people I would say have a lower sGPA just because those classes tend to be a little harder. Why don't you post your GPA, that will help people answer your question better.

I think the OP meant when people have 3.7 science GPA but could have a 3.3 all other GPA (hypothetical example but I am sure someone out there has this case) and yes it does happen. If anything, they look better than it being the opposite since it shows that you have a solid grasp on the sciences. Other classes are tough because the professor can be unrelenting when you are taking a class that is not titled something silly like "Geometrical Cows: Any other shape than an oval"

Well this is just the second semester of my freshmen year but so far I have a 3.5 sGPA and a 3.4 Non science GPA.

I honestly wouldn't worry about it. Your cGPA and sGPA now are completely different than they will be 2 years from now when you apply.

No...it's no problem; however, your relatively low GPA would be a problem (compared with those who get into med school). Make sure to bring that up. It's not bad but it's definitely not good either. Good luck with school!

Major fail in college by not taking appropriate bird courses and trying to be too smart and taking things that "interest" me.

Fail.

Of course not. For example, if you're an engineering major your major classes will tend to be harder than your premed classes a lot of the time. Since engineering isn't part of your sGPA you will probably end up with an sGPA higher than your cGPA (which would include your engineering course grades). Getting Cs and Bs in all your general eds? that might be a different story 😛

Not at all. Some people are really good at science classes but struggle with, say, ethnic studies. As long as you don't have a really low AO GPA, it shouldn't be a problem.

1. relax. your GPA will change before you are actually applying. i would put a lot of money on that.

2. those are pretty close to each other. my sGPA and cGPA were about 0.06 off or something and then when AMCAS recalculated them, they were identical. moral of the story: the difference in your GPAs is not big enough to matter, and even if it were, it still wouldn't matter.
