😕 Eh? I didn't get a 43-45, like he claims to have gotten...

In case he is legit, he should be wellknown at Cornell.

Not necessarily...Cornell is a huge place. Our intro bio and chem classes have about 600 people each. Plus, biology is the most popular major, and since a lot of bio majors are premed, naturally there are a TON of premeds. I don't know the vast majority of premeds here because there are so many of us. So I really don't know whether or not S&S is legit, but I'll keep an eye out for someone who reeks of fecal matter... 😀

Exactly, stools of human and/or animals. A lab somewhere with animals. What else do you examine the stools if not parasites and other germs?

A 4.0 students should be on dean's lists and receives several awards. The one with a true hardship receives scholarships and grants. He probably has a few or a lot of publications under his name(just put the suspicious name on the internal search should do it)........

I am sure that you and others here are smarter than inspector Gadgets and can do something more than just keep ears and eyes openned.😀

Cornell is a joke compared to berkeley in any of the science majors. I have friends at Cornell and I have seen their exams. Two of my friends just transfered from Cornell and they say that Berkeley is WAY harder at berkeley.

I don't know if they think its hard being here because of the classes or if its just hard being away from squat and squeezes mom.

haha my arse he turned down Harvard and MIT. More like he got rejected.

For a guy who is so into getting into a top 10 med school and trying to compare stats and #s of interviews, why would he settle for a much lower ranked school? If he is so superior and competitive, why wouldnt he pick the best school possible? On the one hand he says hes applying to all top 10 schools, a clear sign of arrogance and worshipping the rankings, but on the other he doesnt follow through on attending the very top schools he is bragging about? Something doesnt add up here, and its because Squat is a huge fraud.

Congratulations on proving yourself stupid once again Squat, the more you talk, the more you reveal how fictional your persona on SDN is-- something a lot of people here had figured out from the onset.

I was accepted to and turned down Harvard and MIT for several reasons. Cornell offered me the best financial aid package, and since I didn't have mommy and daddy to pay my way, I took the best deal. Also, I chose Cornell for its academic rigor. Cornell is by far the hardest Ivy to excel in. Any dumb ***** who pulled an A average in high school and candy striped in the hospital for a couple of months can manage a "B" in Harvard. True, Cornell's location is a major negative factor, and the girls around campus are for the most part average-third tier, but in my opinion the positives by far outweigh the negatives.

Also, rank is very important, and let's not forget that Cornell is still a top 15 school. Rank is much more important for medical school than it is for undergrad, though. Any Ivy graduate is at a huge advantage for medical school admissions, but for residency selection, the top 10 schools give their students a much higher probability of matching into a top program.

Gleevec, you're a ******. You are unable to maintain a logical argument so you claim that I got rejected from Harvard and attack my persona as being a fraud without any evidence to your assumption. Look, I understand you feel bad about that rejection letter that Harvard sent you but you're going to have to get over it some day. I bet that one day you are going to make a really crappy doctor. I can imagine it now: "Let's slice this guy open. I don't want any x-rays BECAUSE THERE IS free blood in there."

Cornell may not be the prototypical Ivy, but it's still a top-tier school, and like it or not, its name carries a lot of weight. It may have the reputation of being the easiest Ivy to get into, but it also has the reputation of being the hardest one to make it through. I don't care whether or not that's true, but I would choose Cornell over many other prestigious schools any day. Heck, I chose Cornell over full scholarships to some other schools! Although I have to agree that it's in the middle of nowhere... [/B]

Word.

As I said earlier, I saw some of Berkeley's exams and found them to be relatively easy compared to Cornell's. Further, I know a couple of people who have transferred to/from Berkeley and they claim that Cornell is by far more challenging.

And besides, you're the worthless dumb piece of snot who came on here crying about your pathetically low grades. Like I said, stop wasting your time on here and start researching your local CC's vocational welding class.

Is it just me or is this the most overused, pointless, pitiful, and stupid insult most often used on SDN. Yet it ALWAYS seems to pop up with the argument seems close to an end.😕

[edit: I expect much, much more out of a 4.0, 43-45.]

600 people is nothing. Our general bio class started off with 1600 people and by the time we got to the end of our second semester o chem we had about 700 people completing the class, most of whom were premeds.

I've heard of grade inflation at Harvard, but MIT? Not bloody likely.

Firstly, I wanted to attend an Ivy. Secondly, Cornell gave me a better financial aid package.

Well, I'm not trying to start an argument on whose classes are the biggest...just making a point. 1600-person classes are kind of cool, though. Psych 101 used to have about 1600-1800 depending on the year, but since Bailey auditorium is being renovated, they had to cut enrollment to 700.

Psych 101 was cool. I felt like an ant in that class.

Yea we had to break it down into 3 separate lec times.

Cool? Um, when it comes to class size, notice that bigger is not better. In fact, bigger is definitively worse.

Yea I like my upper div classes bc they have a lot fewer people. You can get to know the professor a lot better and it is easier to contact the TAs and professor if u have any questions.

Ask your mom.

That doesn't even make sense.

I bet one day ur gonna make a really crappy husband (I m already giving u a lot of credit by assuming ur even capable of finding a women that can keep her lunch down whenever she is near u and assuming that ur not gay).

Well, I just meant that it was a unique experience to be in that huge a class while the professor still captured everyone's attention. That's what makes it cool...the fact that in Psych 101, the prof could hold the attention of (most of the) 1600 people in the room. Psych 101 is somewhat of a legend at Cornell. I guess you have to be there to understand what I'm talking about. 🙂

I really have no preference between large and small classes...I think it just depends on your learning style. For instance, I learn better in lectures than discussions, so I prefer to be in lecture courses, no matter what the class size. But I can see why most people prefer smaller classes...you get more individualized attention.

Nothing special about white girls, and that wasn't what I was trying to say. All of the women I've dated to this point have looked different than me, and that's the way I like it--they've all had dark hair and dark eyes. As a blond haired-blue eyed dude, I usually go after women who don't look like they're related to me. But this girl went after me (to an extent), and I'm not going to say no to someone just for being white. All in all, I believe variety is the spice of life, and it was a new experience for me.

"If everybody looked the same we'd get tired of looking at eachother"

--Groove Armada

Thank's for asking the question, though--I don't think I realized that it sounded like that, and that wasn't what I wanted to convey at all. Good thing you set me straight on this.

No problem. I'm always willing to help out where I can.

If there is any place to taste all the flavors you can , Berkeley is definately it. But when I was a student there, and even now that I am a few years older, there is a sentiment from some non-white men that being with a white woman is something to aspire to. I am sorry I assumed that is where you were coming from. 😉

LauraMac: so long as your grades maintain, and maybe improve a bit (hit the books 😉 ) you'll be more than fine. in my experience as a pseudopremed the most valuable thing you can have going for you is your worth as a human being. by the time you apply to a med school, you are a fully-formed, mature adult- the character of that adult is what is really on trial.

as for the analbumcover who's in love with himself and cornell:
well, man, i really dont know what i could say that would help you. some intense work needs to be done. all i can say is that the phrase cockslap comes to mind...

Only a few Summa Cum Laude's come around at Cornell every year, right? So do about 20-25 Magna Cum Laude's. It should not take us longer than a year to find out.

A student sits in the front row because he either matches the best seat with his superiority or his eyesight is still crippled even with corrective lens. But in a unique case like this, I think that the guy just wants to be the first to get out of the room when it is over. 🙂

I have just learned that his majesty the king of 🙂-😀-i-t can play his stuffs several way. Not only he can look for parasites and their eggs, but also he can looks for excessive amount of fat which is an evidence of abnormal absorption of foods too. A Cornell student did some research on Lactose Mal-absorption before he graduated with honor in 2002. There are other substances such as blood, drugs ...etc that one may want to work on too . It would be nice if his majesty would leak some sneak preview a little bit. 😀

I knew a few people in this program. However, it's not a comprehensive list of people doing bio honors theses. The Hughes Scholarship is a grant to do an independent resesarch project over the summer. Most of these do turn into thesis projects, but there's no guarantee that S&S was part of this program.

I think we should start a "Cornellians unite to find out who Squat n Squeeze is" thread.😛

You guys are getting close, but no cigar😛 . And just remember, if you walk up to me and say "Hey Squat," I will reply, "Hey SDNer."

I didn't know that. What sports did he claim to play? Not these programs that are active now at this time of the year, I think.

http://cornellbigred.ocsn.com/

May be basketball, baseball....etc. But a captain of a team sports, especially at college level, doesn't need to fake anything in any anonymous forum at all. Too much pride for that.

He may still be a student (with good grade) at Cornell though. I'm guessing that he prefers to live and work there at his school during summer vacation.

Well, nobody cares about him. Only hundreds of replies and thousands of views generated by him.

But I will say that I do attend an Ivy and the rigor of the curriculum is more intense than Berkeley and most other top schools.

It's reflected in the suicide rate too:laugh: .

Jesus where do some of you guys get off? Why are you going into medicine?

I promise you it doesn't matter where you came from, I have seen MIT kids in the bottom of the class and state school and small liberal arts kids that are AOA with USMLE scores in the upper 260's. It doesn't matter squat where you came from once you are in medschool. Boards scores don't correlate your undergrad univ, and no matter where someone came from they are going to be your colleagues.

FYI a 3.5 at UMich is fine. It might not get you into the top ten but with strong MCATs you'll have shot at a good school, and then it is a clean slate again.

Some coaches have just confirmed that he is the legit captain of both the monopoly and scrabble teams. 🙂 😀

By the way, I have noticed that people with high MCAT scores tend to under estimate the competitiveness of the unlucky lower scores by a few points.

And sports fans always know that athletes don't peak at the same time. That applies to monopoly and scrabble too. 😀

I'd just like to kindly remind everyone that some people (like me) don't have as many choices as to which university they attend. State school=cheaper (generally, at least for myself), thus I attend state school. At least I won't be in debt from my undergrad!!😉

HIlarious:clap:

LOL! I wouldn't be surprised if Cornell actually had Monopoly and Scrabble teams. Heck, we have a DDR club!

h2cooper - yeah, Cornell is leaving me deep in the hole of debt. That's my only regret for going there. Ivies have this stupid no merit scholarship policy, so if you don't get need-based aid, you're outta luck.
