Haven't seen many Wisconsin applicants on this board. I would be interested to hear from any students at any of the three schools I applied to. Just got my acceptance e-mail from UW this morning. I'm thrilled, but they want my deposit within three weeks, and the other two schools make their decisions next month.

Wow you got into all the schools that rejected me! Haha Congrats on NIU. How'd you make your decision?

Congrats on USC!! My reasons are mainly financial, NIU has by far the lowest tuition of all my schools, and I can commute there, so after the three years I'll probably only have about 25K in debt, which is still a lot of money but pretty good as far as most PT schools go. I know it's not a particularly well known school, but all practicing PTs I've talked to, including managers involved in hiring, tell me that what school you go to doesn't matter as much as much as your clinical experiences, how you present yourself, and mainly the effort that you put into your own education. And it's still a good school: 90% first time pass rate of NPTE, 100% overall pass rate, and 100% job placement, so it seems to get the job done 🙂 I've also talked to a few people that go there now and they all seem to really like it.

@Sunshine91 -- They let us know by phone earlier this week (I heard Monday), then I received an email notification on Wednesday and a paper letter today. I have heard that after they do the "acceptance list" they started notifying the waitlist/alternate list the following week or something. Not entirely sure. Best of luck!

Just got a call today from UM-Flint that I got accepted. I will probably decline.

JBizzle, are you going to attend any of the other schools you got accepted to in the fall?

So far, the only schools I have been accepted to are my backup schools, but I have sent in my deposit to Touro.

Yea J-Bizzle.. I got a call from UM-Flint. Not sure what I'll do. How do you feel about their program? I wish it was on the Ann Arbor campus, not really wanting to live in Flint.

Yeah, Flint is the reason why I'm probably not attending. Checking the overall pass rates for the NPTE it is at 87.5% I think. And the Tuition is around 80k total I believe. So even though I've heard bad things about Touro, they have a 91% ultimate pass rate and is ~60k total for tuition, which is a better option thus far (still hoping for better schools). How do you feel about UM-Flint's program??? Honestly, he asked me why I applied from all the way down south in FL, and I totally BSed my answer.

Did you interview at USC? Went to their open house and was told they do not call for interview but they would grant interviews if requested.
Hi smash2010,
No, I didn't interview--USC doesn't conduct interviews (unfortunately). I attended an info session a few months back (but it was nothing like an interview--we just got a folder with printed info and a tour) and also went to the open house, but I wasn't aware that they interviewed if requested! USC does seem lenient on their admissions... NOT that it's easy to get in, but they just seem very friendly. I got the feeling that they are very accommodating to extenuating circumstances and special cases. Did you like the school when you visited?? I'm definitely excited! Anyway, I hope my input helped, and good luck!! 🙂

There is another thread talking about this. Some people have heard back. Also, try checking your portal on their website. Your portal will change before you recieve a letter. If you were waitlisted or rejected though it won't change and you'll receive your notification in the mail. Good luck!

TheOx777,

I'm not very interested in Simmons or Chatham anymore due to the distance from home (the drive to Wheeling was bad enough), and Temple is unattractive due to the bad area of Philiadelphia. I would hold out hope for Jefferson, but the tuition is a lot more expensive than Drexel. Needless to say, I think Drexel is my final decision. Have you made any decisions yet?

I have decided to attend the Mayo Clinic's DPT program. I thought both Drexel and Temple had strong programs, so you probably can't go wrong with either. I know that some people are turned off by the area around Temple though. Best wishes moving forward!
