Hi friends! I applied to Texas Tech in July and I am a little worried because they stated that they are doing rolling admissions, yet I still haven't heard from them. I understand I need to be patient and they could just be looking over a lot of applications, but I know I was one of the first few people to apply. Should I just wait it out, or should I send an e-mail in case they meant to contact me but I never received it?
The schools that I applied for rolling admission told me that they don't start to look at the applications until Sept or Oct so they might not have seen it yet. I don't think that there is any harm in reaching out to them though in the meantime.

Hi! No, I still haven’t been offered an interview. I emailed twice and I think I frustrated the admissions counselor, so it’s just a waiting game for now.... :(

Hello again, same I emailed twice! The other schools send out an email that they’ve received your application but I haven’t received one from tech at all. Did you submit your supplemental application already too?

Yes I did receive an email in August saying that they received everything and that I met all the requirements. I just haven’t been offered an interview (which is not anything to be upset over because we still have months to hear back~ but I honestly thought I was a top candidate ): ) I would definitely ask them if they received all your things!!

I have interviews at Boston and Rush, but have not yet heard back from UIC. I will keep you updated on the interview process! I applied very early (September), so I was eligible for the first round of interviews, but I believe most schools have multiple rounds!
Hi there! I am wondering what your interview experience with BU was like? I have an interview Friday!! Any tips/example questions (if you remember) would be super appreciated!

Haven't heard back from the other 4, but hopefully this means they are still considering me for the last wave since I haven't gotten rejected yet! Cross fingers. Still - NYU was my top choice anyway, since I am originally from New York and finally came back after 10 years of living out west.

Good luck everyone :)
Hello, so NYU does accept people with low GPA?

Hi everyone! I'm putting as a caveat that I'm a nontraditional student and OT will be my second(ish) career. I'll be 39 when I start graduate school, so my experience might look different from someone who graduated with their bachelor's more recently.

Undergraduate college: Colorado College
Major: Women's Studies
Overall GPA: 3.8
Pre-Req GPA: 4.0
GRE: Not required

I had to go back to school to complete most of my prerequisite courses.

Observation hours: 14 in person in a pediatric clinic (pre-COVID). Took an Introduction to OT course at one university to fulfill requirement; hours were waived this year for the other school due to COVID restrictions.

Also, I was an occupational therapy client myself for about a year (2015-2016) for sensory integration and vision therapy.

Letters of recommendation: work supervisor, anatomy & physiology professor, and OT

Relevant background/experience: Nonprofit administration at multiple organizations. Worked in a nonprofit arts organization that had a day program for adults with developmental disabilities. Completed two AmeriCorps terms (1700+ hours each), one at a volunteer center (AmeriCorps VISTA) and the other doing projects in multiple states (AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps). I currently work as a supplemental instruction leader for anatomy & physiology classes at a local community college. I also teach and practice Nia, which is a dance fitness practice that emphasizes healing and joyful movement and can be modified based on students' needs and abilities.

Acceptances: Touro University Nevada (11/24), UNLV (1/21)

Rejections:

Interviews: Touro University Nevada (11/4), UNLV (1/13)

Has anyone interviewed with Johnson and Wales, Duke, or University of Nebraska Med yet? I am scheduled to interview with all of them in the coming weeks and am trying to prepare myself! Any insight on questions and whether these were individual or group settings would be appreciated! Thank you and I am sending positive vibes to everyone! :)

Congratulations on your acceptances! For NYIT I know they require all science courses to be for science majors. I didn't apply because mine weren't all for science majors. I was just wondering if all yours were. Thanks!

Hello all! I wanted to reach out as I was heavily involved in all forums when I was in the application cycle and when I was interviewing as well. I am about to finish up my last didactic semester before going into my level two rotations (acute care and school based peds). That all being said, as I am finishing up, I wanted to make sure I could reach out and help anybody out that may need advice. I can be reached more directly through my instagram @otwithlexy so please feel free to DM me from there (just let me know you're from SDN) and I can answer all your questions. For some clarity, when I was applying, I was accepted to: Midwestern University, USC, Howard University, Samuel Merritt University, A.T Still University, UNLV, & Dominican University. Please use me as a resource and good luck to you all! You got this!!:giggle:
