Grades and Retakes?

Hi I have been considering podiatry, and how do they calculate in retakes? Also how did everyone do on the prereqs? I feel horrible for getting C/C+ in chem 1 and 2. I did well in orgo and bio though. I just want to know what gpa do I need and MCAT? I am really interested, but worried I wont get in.

Retakes are averaged in, not replaced like they do for DO applicants

I received C's in Gen Chem 1 and 2; in Ochem 1 I got a c, retook it and got an A-. In Ochem 2 I got an A and in Biochem I got a B. I tried to take Gen Chem 1 and 2 over, but Pitt has a policy that if you take an upper level class that you can not come back and repeat a lower level class. I forgot what my point was here, okay i got it, a couple of C's are not the end of the world. I would not worry about the Gen chem grades as long as you did well in Ochem and Biochem. As far as the MCAT is concerned, shoot for a 45 and you will be okay. Seriously, a twenty will get you in but shot for a 45. And by the way, I bet you get in.

Since you did well in the other classes I wouldn't stress your gen chem grade so much. Some people are like that where they find gen chem hard but ochem easy, I was one of them. As long as the rest of your stats are solid you'll be fine.

my gpa was like 2.99 overall/2.93 science and I got into all the schools I applied.

didn't take MCATs I took the DATs and got 21TS/21AA

Not my corgi, but I bet mine would be doing the exact same thing. Yes I did, thats where I'm heading for school in Aug!
