So this is 2 questions about 2 completely different things.

1. I am still in the process of arguing some grades for this past semester. These 2 grades could potentially be moved up 1/3rd of a grade each. However, I already sent in my transcripts and am self reporting my grades right now. If those grades change do I just send updated transcripts to AMCAS

2. One semester my grandmother, who played a huge role in raising me died. This unforutnately happened right before I was supposed to take exams. I did NOT do well that semester. Is the only place to talk about that in my personal statement? Or is there an opportunity later?

some (maybe even most) secondaries ask if there is anything else you would like to explain, but not always.

Cool thanks, my PS is pretty much maxed out so I don't really have room to do that. Another question, my school has a special BCPM list of courses that are not in BCPM subjects but are over 50% BCPM and therefore should count towards my BCPM GPA. Is there a specific point in the application where it asks for outside courses that should be included in my science GPA or should I just designate it as a BCPM couse.

Example:
Biological Basis of Human Behavior is an Anthropology course but is on the BCPM list. I've listed it as a "Behavioral/ Social Science" If i want it to be included in my Science GPA should I call it a biology course?

Yea, if you have a course that can go either way, label it the way you are hoping it will be classified. If AMCAS disagrees they will just change it with no penalty to you. If you classify it as social science, however, theres no way they are going to make it a BCPM course.

Your school calculates your BCPM? Interesting.

I'd keep everything listed as it is. The AMCAS people take care of all the GPA calculations for you, and if you exaggerate with the classifications it might just confuse them (and the schools) which could make your application take longer to process.

Thank You, your help is much appreciated.

This is straight from my school:

Science Courses Outside BCPM Departments
The AMCAS application asks you to designate whether each of your courses is a biology, chemistry, physics or math course. All courses taken in the departments of biology, chemistry, physics or math should be so designated, and will be included in the AMCAS "science gpa" calculation. Students often ask if courses outside of those departments can be counted as science courses. Listed below are courses that have been identified by the faculty involved as having content "at least 50% biology, chemistry, physics or math." These courses should also be designated for inclusion in your science gpa. Other WU courses should generally not be identified as biology, chemistry, physics or math.

Yea, my school is nuts. Go WUSTL!

It wont confuse the schools b/c AMCAS fixes everything before they send it off. It might take a little extra time for verification but if you are applying this early its realy not gonna matter.
