I'm taking extra courses after graduation in order to boost my gpa, a DIY postbac. Unfortunately, my college doesn't offer night time science classes and the only science class available this semester after work is a BIO graduate course. Is it worth it taking this course? It would be a smaller class size than what my state school undergraduate classes normally are and probably get me a better recommendation, but I do know that there are some differences in how graduate classes are perceived on AMCAS and by medical school admissions committees.

This counts as upper level science, which is what med schools want ot see you do well in.

That said, the course should mimic what's given in med shcool. So neuroscience is OK. DNA Techniques or Seminars in Neuroscience aren't.

What are your thoughts on a class called 'Current Topics in Genetics and Molecular Biology?' On AMCAS do we have to include the class description? It states that this course is focused for students pursuing graduate studies in Biology Teaching Certification or a Teaching Ph.D. It seems as though it can be an easy A but I won't take it if its detrimental to my application.

Easy A yes, but not reflective of what you'll have in med school , and you won't be impressing me, either.
