I am a senior, gpa 2.9, sci gpa 3.3 and dat in three weeks. My first three years of school were as a business student and then I was out for 7 years. Returned to do dental and now for the problem.

As a business student, grades weren't a huge priority, B's for the most part, but with 75+ credit hours when I switched, my gpa doesn't move anymore. My basics are done and I am in biochem class presently with no other relevent classes to take this semester, but histology and cell biol are available next semester. Wanted to take these, but I could take biochem and senior project and graduate. Should I graduate or hold out? Don't want a transcript with filler classes but don't want to burn tuition needlessly. suggestions?

i dunno, if it was for ME, I would apply this cycle and see were the hell I end up. Your science GPA isn't bad, and it seems like you might be able to pull off a decent grade on your DAT. now thats ME speaking....

generally speaking? don't graduate, wait a year, get your grades up, and study well for the DAT, and apply next cycle. everyones gonna have some sort of opinion on this.

best of luck...

See what happens, if you get a decent dat score you could start dental school in the fall of 2005. I think in your case you acceptance could decided on the DAT score. If you don't do well you can continue on in school. If you do well on the DAT finish school and have a vacation or work (save up for school) if you want too. Parttttyy
