I have a chance to graduate Summa cum laude, which is the highest possible distinction at my school, if I decide to take around (usually 18) 22-23 credits next semester (and obviously get or close to a 4.0 again) which I have been doing for the past few recent semesters. I know I can do it, but I will have to exert myself more than otherwise.

Worth the extra trouble? How many of you are completing those extra requirements to hit that magna or summa distinction?

Depends on your goals. They offered me distinction if I do an extra few months of research, etc. I said "No, thank you" and went on my way. It's an honor to get a distinction. I personally just prioritize other stuff.

90% of the kids entering D school with get suma, magna or cum. Therefore dental schools care very less for this. I got magna but that did not make any difference for me. It's more for you to feel better about yourself.
