Thought it would be interesting to make a list of clinical "quota" needed for dental schools out there for their graduation classes.

(e.g. at least, but not limited to, 6 RPDs, 1 F/F, 6 units of fixed pros are required for my program)

others?

others?
1 single denture
2 complete/complete dentures
3 RPDs
15 units fixed
12 obturated canals
1 SSC
1 pedo pulpo
45 operative restorations
4 perio SRP+reeval
6 perio surgery assist

I think that's everything we keep number requirements for.

9 units removeable
20 units fixed (I am already over this number and still have a year left)
4 non-molar endo
1 molar endo (residents take all the rest 😡 )
100 operative restorations (again, already past this)
20 extractions (again, have done 5 or 6 times this number)
5 pre-prosthetic surgeries
3 perio surgeries
20 SRP plus re-eval
various pedo and other competencies

what abt surgical exo's?

8 units removable
26 units fixed
6 non-molar endo
3 molar endo
220 operative restorations
100 extractions
6 complete cases
various pedo and other competencies
12 FMS with interps 😀

anyone get to do implants? the surgical part that is..also..do u guys use ni-ti for molar endos?

Great thread, but was hoping you could mention where one went to school. Especially the poster that is already done with 20 units of fixed, nicely done. Be nice to see the difference between competencies based on region of the nation.

Is this final year requirements only? or during all clinical years?

I agree that the poster should mention where they go to school as well.

lets start with just final year requirments -- that is, the least you have to do to graduate in your final year.

12yearold is at USC. The nine units of removable are RPD's, plus we need and a couple of complete dentures.

University of Sydney (final year) requirements -- 6 RPDs, 1 Full/Full, and 8 obturated canals (at least 1 molar), 6 units of Fixed Pros are "absolute" requirements. Others such as Paedo preps +SCC, special care Mx, good numbers of CR, GIC, Amalgam restorations, and/or other Exos (both surgical and non sugical) as well as surgical perios are not uncommonly performed by final year students, depending on their patients.

hi, i am new here. Great board you guys have here, plenty of info. Just some info from singapore.

National University Of Singapore

Competency based programme

basically a programme where we do relatively less for requirement to be eligible for competency test, in which we are scrutinised for the procedures carried out. failure of competency will lead to remedial work to be done to be eligible again.

2 rpd + 1 competency
2 f/f + 1 competency
2 crown + 1 competency
2 bridge
5 posteior resto + 1 competency
5 anterior resto + 1 competency
3 rct + 1 competency
3 ohp perio
1 perio management
1 completed complex case
misc pedo stuff and ortho stuff
10 simple exo and 2 surgical exo

we need to find our own patients by the way... thats the main headache.

For our D4 year we have the following in addition to competencies:
3 RPDs
3 complete dentures
4 RPD designs
20 units fixed
2 molar endo (one max and one mand)
100 pedo experiences
10 perio reevals and maint.
60 operative

I think that's about it.

20 fixed pros units -- that's quite abit considering if u also have to do the lab work yourself , or do u? btw, is that figure common in US schools? do we have any Candian and/or UK/EU dental students out there that want to contribute?

Someone said before that lab work at Arizona is optional after students initially get their hands dirty with it.

Arizona does no lab work. They have an on campus lab that does everything. I believe they do a two week rotation at the lab to watch and help out and after that the only lab work they do is with a bic and lab slip.

icic..hence the high output -- cos lab work can take quite abit of time. i hate lab work with a passion.

We don't do our own labwork unless we wish to. Some do and some don't.

Tons of incorrect info, but I'll give you points for trying.

Tell all those guys waxing up veneers or setting denture teeth (or even worse, stippling) that we don't do any labwork. See what they say.

We do 2-3 day rotations, a couple of times each year in the professional lab. It's a great time to get help with veneer cases, implant cases, etc.

still pretty good as u have a choice. we need to bribe our techs to get anything done around here...you lucky bastard =)

100 exts for a D, 160 for an A
6 pre-prosth
6 perio cases
4 pedo cases
15 canals
3 inlays/onlays
+ whatever operative procedures....
