Hi All,

Was curious if anyone knew of any grants (non institutional) to which an MD/PhD student could apply for funding toward a new personal computer. I'm about to start doing a lot of writing, and I've got a relic, but neither my stipend nor my program leave me enough $$ to just go out and buy a laptop.

Thanks!

Lynnie

NIH has the F30 grant specific for MD/PhD students that covers stipend, tuition, health insurance, and provides ~$4200/year institutional allowance that you can spend on a laptop (which is what I did).

Is that ONLY for mstp students? I go to a school that isn't mstp. I have a T32 grant that covers my stipend, and my tuition is just waiv ed.

It's not for MSTP students I believe, as they are already funded by NIH. It is for MD/PhD students not currently supported by NIH. If you are already funded through T32, I'm not sure you can apply. Check out their website for more info.

If you are looking for a grant just for a computer, I don't think you will find one.
