Hey Guys,

I took the GRE in July. I did alright in Math (680), but I completely bombed the Verbal section - (330). This was also after memorizing PR hit list vocab words. I felt this list was really inadequate, and I only recognized literally 3 words. Did anyone have a similar problem? Would anyone want to recommend GRE Vocab lists that helped them? Verbal is by far my weakest subject..so I need all the help I can get.

Please advise! Thanks

I used the resources at www.quizlet.com and found them to be helpful. You can play games with words from the vocabulary lists, which was nice for me when I got sick of looking at flashcards but still wanted to study. Good luck!

That makes me a little nervous, I am using PR to prepare. So for on practice tests I have gotten in the upper 500s. So, this is another cry for any good vocabulary learning tools! 🙂

www.quizlet.com looks promising! thank you for sharing it!

As someone who struggled with the GRE as well, I have tried most of the different books out there. IMHO Barron's books and flash cards are MUCH better than Princeton Review. I got the Box of Barron's flashcards and also the Barron's book (I completed the practice analogies and antonyms sections).

I also used the grockit.com and number2. com websites. Furthermore, since I learn better in context, I used a Barron's book called Simon's Saga for the SAT (some words are easy and you will already know, but others were new for me). I saw LOTS of those words on the GRE test I recently took and after a year of trying to improve, I finally made it past the 1200 cut off score! Best wishes for studying and I hope those resources are somewhat helpful.
