How could there possibly be a thread following a medical show that rips off all the worst parts of other such shows?

Follow-up question: Scrubs is SO funny, but why did JD and Carla kiss? The show centers around Turk and JD's friendship! Bad move!!

Bonus question: Did anyone notice in the first episode of "Grey's" how the lead character's Botox-injected upper lip actually eclipsed the sun in one scene? BRILLIANT! Marginal bonus points to "Grey's" based on subversive cinematography!!

is it possible to actually enjoy watching television when you read way too far into everything?

I enjoy Scrubs, but "Grey's" is boring and unoriginal.

I'd take Scrubs over Grey's Anatomy any day!

I only get four channels of TV, what is grey's anantomy? (what channel)

The characters in Grey's Anatomy are bastard-coated bastards with bastard filling.

The show is on ABC.

sounds tasty! :spam:

so scrubs is a better comedy and greys is a worse drama?

Apples and Oranges, ey?

You get an A+. 👍

And to that person asking whether or not we enjoy tv while looking "too far" into it, I answer a solid YES 😛 Especially Scrubs, because it rewards the observent viewere with little golden eastereggs that make the show even better.

Go Mighty Kites!

two very different shows....but Scrubs is awesome!!! Grey's is alright so far, I'll give it some more time

Scrubs is so funny because the comedy catches you off guard. You can't say that about most other TV shows, except of course "The Simpsons".

gotta say scrubs is a super good show.......anyone catch 'the office' right afterward? Man, I swear, Stevel Correll is freakin' next level hilarious. I miss him on the Daily Show.

And yes, Grey's Anatomy is a little on the weak side, but c'mon if it sux that bad don't watch it. My gf likes it, so its not that bad to watch....I've seen worse shows b4

 I'm feelin the GF situation

Anybody remember another Medicine show on ABC a long while back? "Gideon's Crossing", it was a hell of a show, its like House M.D. except a lot less formulaic and spontaneous. Too bad it got cancelled, hella better than Grey's, entirely different from Scrubs.

girlfriends are the sole reason why we have ******ed shows on tv like 92804, the o.c., summer land or something, Grey'S ANATOMY, shaniqua and her slutty ***** friends, amish in the city, and the dreaded AMERICAN IDOL spewing out millions of Michael Boltons. Bastards.

whatever happened to shows like becker, seinfeld, FRESHPRINCE OF BEL-AIR, (arrested development), boston public, cheers etc etc.

showbiz works with what the people want. I guess some people just want shallow conflicts, minimally encompassing characters, and other sub-par/mediocre aspects of television.

EXACTLY!!
evidence: a 2min span in the last episode of "Grey's" when the phrase "severed penis" was repeated no less than 600 times.

SCRUBS = the reason I am going to medical school - jk, but it really is much better than Grey's Anatomy

I have to agree with fizzle's assessment of Scrubs. The part of the show that I liked most was JD & Turk's friendship. If they turn that into a drama, then it can't be funny and then who the hell cares? Then again, who really cares anyway? I'm going to be living my own medical dramody soon anyway! I call it "Dope's Land Of No Medical School Applications, The Series".

I like them BOTH, so therefore, I don't care. T.V. is T.V. is T.V., your going to have bad actors and good actors. If I want the real deal, I'll go do a few rotations at the real hospital down the street!

They kissed!!!! NO!!!!! I thought that Carla and Turk were going to work things out after he went to the cemetary. Erg.. I wish I didn't have so many tests falling on Wednesdays so that I would actually be able to watch Scrubs again.

grey's anatomy will be cancelled due to low ratings after 1 season. scrubs will inevitably gain ABC's lost viewers, and thus encourage more people to go into medicine...

Is this going to be like the Every Sunday tradition, we revive the Greys Anatomy thread followed up by this one.......?

If so, OK!
😛

well, my opinion in this pressing debate is... obvious 😎

<-----

Scrubs is going downhill fast. I long for the days before they utterly relied on the Janitor's antics, and some all too predictable plot.

I hate how Carla drags drama with her wherever she goes. It's all her fault if their marriage falls apart. Turk is my homeboy.

sorry to say, but i find scrubs to be boring and very predictable. and if it is somehow spontaneous in humor, it's not even funny. i find myself having to force a laugh on that show.

grey's anatomy is definitely a worthwhile watch. a bit too cut throat but still a good watch.

honestly i bet everyone watches it because that woman is in her underwear every single time you turn on the tv

sex sells

Apparently Grey's gets good ratings and will, unfortunately, not be sentenced to death any time soon. I ask, is there no justice in this world?

On a positive note, Scrubs will be very juicy on Tuesday. Watch, Tivo, or tape the show - for the sake of your personal/professional livelihood!!!

I haven't seen the episode but I sadly already know what will happen.

Turk will be pissed at both Carla and JD, and they will spend the episode trying to make it up to him. The janitor will harass Dr. Cox and vice versa. Random Todd/Ted appearance. The end. I wish it was like season 1/2.

Yes, that did happen. But it was an awesome episode. I don't think scrubs is strong because its unpredictable, if that were the case i would watch telenovelas. It's good because I actually give a damn about the characters and the situations they encounter.

There needs to be more todd if anything else.

Hey, it's not "Todd", it's "THE Todd". 😎

I actually like Eliot (Elliot?) more than JD or Turk. She is the spitting image of every neurotic, insecure premed that I know (and the spitting image of the type of people running rampant in medicine today). Plus, she plays the character really well. The show is masterful in its depiction of the power differential between chief, attending and resident; I love how Dr. Cox is the typical malignant attending ("kiss my ring"), abusing every facet of his position. The stereotypes on the show are very well thought out, IMHO.

Greys is kinda lousy b/c it's just like ER, only not nearly as good (even though ER is deep into it's decline). That and the character that plays Grey is just really annoying.
