hey Everyone,
i know this might be annoying and repetitive, but i really need your help. I applied to 6 school and so far i have gotten 3 rejections... my DAt score was AA 22 TS 23.. however my gpa is low 2.92... and 2.96 for my science average but its all due to freshman and sophomore year over the past 2 years my gpa has been 3.89... i have pretty much lost hope for this cycle. what do you guys suggest i should do for the next one.

Apply to more schools. At least 15. Be smart with your selections, do your homework. Do some post bacc work to boost your GPA up to a 3.0, then apply early.

i concur with the post bac or a masters but no need to apply to 15 schools. Apply to those you like.

yeah i am planing on taking 21 credits next quarter and i am currently taking 16. thank you for the replies guys

When did you have everything in by? Like others have said, choose your schools wisely.

Getting to the 3.0 mark should help out quite a bit. 37 credits worth of A's should do the job. How many of those credits count towards your science gpa?

Get straight As in the classes you are about to take. Cross the 3.0 threshold.

Reapply to more like 12-14 schools. Call them all before hand and ask if they have GPA cutoffs, without mentioning your name. Make sure you have your application/letters of rec in the first Day (May 1). When you get your secondaries fill them out same day and get them in.

You could also try calling the schools you applied to this year, explain your situation and grade pattern, and ask if they have a postbac you could attend to prove yourself.

Best advice I can give you. Good luck.

I actually think your monster DAT score would be enough. How many interviews out of the 6 schools? How early did you sent out your application?

If you don't get in this cycle, I guess you'll be applying again this coming cycle, I think if you bump up your school number (to 15-ish) you should have a MUCH higher chance. Good luck to ya

I haven't had any interviews yet and i am pretty sure if i haven't had any by now chances are i am not going to get any for this cycle. I turned everything in August.
I am taking all science classes next quarter...

You have great DAT scores and for some schools, stellar scores will certainly get you an interview at minimum with a sub 3.0 GPA. I would recommend taking at least 3 upper-level science classes at your university next semester and getting A's in all of them. As for the classes you are taking now - you have to do well to get that GPA up! As others have pointed out, once you break that 3.0 threshold, with those scores you definitely have a shot next cycle granted you apply early!

some good advice here.

apply to more schools

go to the sticky at the top of the forum, download the info, sort by dat scores.....apply to the schools that favor the DAT over GPA.

profit.
