will this info really help all that much?? I have a 32 mcat, im sure someone else waiting has a 36 and another person has a 28...supposedly their waitlist isnt ranked so i think at this point its about more than numbers

Just checking back to see if anyone on here got the good news today... I withdrew my acceptance yesterday and got a very nice e-mail confirming the withdrawal (and $2900 tuition prepayment refund! 🙂 ) within minutes, so hopefully someone will hear soon.

I hope the spot goes to an SDN-er on this thread!

So do the rest of us!!! Thanks again for being so thoughtful as to think of us. 🙂 To the person who posted about stats, I had a 30, mediocre GPA, masters degree, good LORs and great extracurrics. I don't know if stats really matter at this point... A lot of the people on the top of the waitlist were re-applicants, so I really think they take that into consideration.

hey there- i wouldn't worry about stats at all! i got a 22, yes I repeat...a 22 on the MCAT (am not a URM), GPA= 3.4, have my MPH, have done 5+ years in HIV/STD prevention research.

as you can see, stats alone cannot predict any outcome. i received an interview in Sept and with my stats alone, I should not even have been granted an interview, let alone a waitlist position. i'm sure everyone will agree that this process is super random. i was only was only interviewed at 1 DO school and 3 MD programs, and got into the DO and Suny Buffalo (but am still holding out for GW!!). so honestly, i wouldn't go by our stats, just focus on pumping out the most appealing and best application that you can! best of luck.

The admissions office openly admits that there are no number cut-offs and every application is reviewed. Pretty crazy considering there are 10,000 of them every year to go through! They look for diversity in their classes, not just culturally but experientially, although some years are moreso than others.

I understand how you're feeling. If I didn't have my job to distract me, I'll probably go completely crazy too. Do you have a backup plan?
