Hey guys,

I had an interview for an amazing job opportunity that I absolutely need ($, clinical exposure). It went okay and she told me she'll let me know in a week after she's interviewed more people.

Should I send a follow up email? What should I say?

Follow up emails tend to include both a thanks for the opportunity and you to reiterate points as to why you feel you are qualified for the position. It's still all about selling yourself. It's not bad to do a follow up e-mail, I took business seminars when I was in undergrad and they always recommended it as it helps you stand out.

I would do a google and find a well written template. Jobs can be a numbers game so good idea to cast a wide net of applications

Don't overthink it

Always send a note after a job interview. Thank your interviewer for his/her time and briefly re-iterate your interest and specific desirable traits that qualify you for the position. Tie it in with something that was mentioned during the interview if possible. Keep it short and sweet.

Definitely, I had a few interviews after my undergrad for my gap year. Not exactly proven but during my experience, sending a relatively small thank you note yielded much more positive results than not doing so.
