So I am headed to my first interview next week and was wondering what to do with the time between the end of the interview day and my flight home.
It occurred to me that it would be cool to try and get some of the other applicants there that day together, and to just go hang out at a bar and unwind from the stressful afternoon.

Has anyone else done something like this? Would it infringe on some unspoken etiquette to try and fraternize with other applicants on interview day?

1) Go drinking with fellow interviewees
2) Get them really drunk
3) Get them to divulge their secrets
4) Threaten to tell their secrets if they don't immediately withdraw from said school
5) ?????
6) Increase chances of acceptance at said school

I hope you're not serious...

1. steal underpants
2. ?????
3. make money

It's no problem, and I've never heard about any stigma against such a course of action. You've already spent the money going to your interview location and getting a hotel room, might as well enjoy it a bit and will probably help calm yourself after the interview.

Don't hang out with other interviewees. It will make you neurotic and crazy. Go see a bit of the town/city! You're considering living here for 4 years, so you might as well see it. If you brought some work to do, find a local coffee shop and hang out there. Or grab a beer and dinner at a local pub near the hospital.

Why not? Sounds more fun than watching tv/eating/scratching yourself.

5) ?????
6) profit

That's the rule. After step "????" it's always profit!!

Grab a beer with the other interviewees. Be social.

I'm already spending the day before the interview in the city and grabbing dinner with a couple current med students so I will have a sense of the city.

It's more that I will have an awkward chunk of time before I need to go to the airport that ideally I would spend just chilling with people and unwinding for the day. I figure if I am already grabbing a beer at 3:30 dressed in a fancy suit I may as well try and get a group of fancily dressed people to join me.

Since this is my first interview I wasn't sure if normally applicants all split up pretty early in the day and disappear as soon as the day is over, or if generally everyone is sort of in the same area at the end and it would be feasible to get a group together.

no one knows who the underpants gnomes are?

People usually just split off as soon as the interview day is finished from what I've noticed.
Definitely not. After my interviews, I went out with fellow interviewees to a bar for a drink. It helped that we were pretty close by the end of the day

At one of my interviews, me and a ton of the students met at the airport (everyone is leaving) and we hung out until our flights.

This. One time, we all split a cab and ate dinner together at the airport. Fun times.
