Just wanted to see how many moms (or moms-to-be, must have been in first trimester AT TIME OF RECEIPT OF ACCEPTANCE LETTER :p ) are a part of the Class of 2006?

Happy Mother's Day to all of you out there...none of us could have gotten here without you! <img border="0" alt="[Lovey]" title="" src="graemlins/lovey.gif" />

Hi!
I'm a mom, I have two sons, ages 9 and 12, and I will be starting med school this August.
And it HAS been a great mother's day!

I'm a mother of 3 and part of the Class of 2006. I've had a wonderful day getting lots of love from my babies in rainy Columbus, OH. :)

mdmom, couldn't agree with you more. And congratulations to all of you...nice to know that there are a lot of parents who'll be taking the plunge this August!!! :D

Happy mother's day ladies!

Congrats to all of you! Can I ask a question? Do the med schools know you have kids?

I'm struggling trying to figure out why I didn't get in, and the schools aren't being at all forthcoming about it. I'm starting to be afraid it's because I have a 2-year-old. I did mention my kid in my essay, and all the interviewers asked me what I was going to do with him while I'm in med school. I'm probably just rationalizing though...

Happy belated Mother's Day ladies!

I would like to wish Happy Mother's DAY to my wife who is going to be a great doctor one day and already is the best MOM!
Happy mother's day shona

spacecadet,

The med schools did know that I had kids. Some interviewers grilled me quite extensively about it. However, when I interviewed at the school that I will be attending, I asked questions about things like: Where is the best area for housing? Families? Where are the best schools? No, I can't afford all the 'best' things, but they knew that the quality of life for my family is very important to me, even while I'm in school. THAT says a lot about the type of person I am and, hopefully, what kind of doctor I'll be. They also had a non-trad doctor sit in and interject during my second interview. She had gone through med school later in life, with children I might add, and wanted to add her $ .02. It was all good. It was all layed out on the table.

Good luck to you. :)

My daughter is departed, but I still consider myself a mom!

I'm a mother of 5 and I included this information on my applications. I applied to 4 schools and was accepted at 3. It is really nice to see that there are other mothers starting med school this fall. Best wishes to all of you.
