Does anyone have any opinion on what it is like to be single in any of the Harvard hospitals (BI, MGH, Brigham)? I heard it sucks. I heard that people are too busy gunning each other down that they have no time for anything else. Has anyone heard different? On the other hand, I heard it was great to be single at Boston Univ.

so i've heard that the brigham is much more friendly in terms of residents. internal medicine residents there seem to play well w/ each other and w/ the other programs, free time seems to exist. the hospital also has a good vibe and an ABP (is it 24hr?).

of course, i defer to HMS students and residents.

From a HMS student point of view, it goes from BI -> BWH -> MGH in terms of decreasing friendliness and increasing pressure, although this differs between specialities.

and the ABP is closed only from 2-6 am on Sundays (obviously, the folks from Children, BIDMC and BWH share and share alike in the food facilities of the Longwood area).
