Hey everyone!

Just wondering if anyone has heard from Harvard? I got their email saying people invited for interview will hear by the second week of January. My app has been complete since September, but still nothing. If you got rejected recently too, it would be nice to know...then I know mine is on the way. Thanks.

hey gr82, I'm in the same boat as you. I think there are a lot of us with great stats who haven't heard from harvard. I was told on the phone when I called about a month ago that they would be inviting people until the third week of January. So, I guess there's still hope. I believe that they send all the rejection at once at the end of February.

Have you heard of anyone at UM getting a harvard interview? I sure as hell haven't.

no...no one from UM yet. One of my best friends here is in the same situation though...checking the mail every damn day...hoping for good news. I guess not hearing is good too. Also, anyone heard from Penn yet? I've been waiting since Spet. for them too. Best of luck. Let me know if the medical gods shine on you.

hey, i completely agree that it's GREAT to be a Michigan Wolverine!
However, for admissions at Harvard, I hear that they have something against Michigan students for some reason. Obviously there's some envy that they haven't been able to overcome yet.

But a person i know who was training with me to teach the mcat for kaplan-- got into ucsf and northwestern but didn't get any interviews at Harvard. He also mentioned that he knew someone with a 42 and a 4.0 from michigan who also didn't get an interview there. They got something against us folks.

Maybe they're just trying to shake off the image as the "michigan of the east".

yeah...i've heard the people at Harvard have something against Michigan folk too. Bastards! Question: If you don't get an interview, do they send the rejection right away, or wait until February? Has anyone been rejected from Harvard yet?

No rejections from Harvard until the end of february, I think. About a month and a half ago I got an invitation from Penn, and i think they still interview for a while, so there's hope.

"Harvard, the Michigan of the East"... those t-shirts are awesome. I think that we're all better off without Hah-vahd.

I think Harvard sends both acceptances and rejections out on the same day. (Last year, however, HST people learned of their acceptances before the New Pathway folks.)

The first-year class has two U of Michigan graduates. Except for the 32 graduates of Harvard College, the first year class came from a very diverse group of colleges. Stanford is the second best-represented college with 9 students. So having 2 from U Michigan is not that bad.

so no rejections until February. but if you don't get an interview invitation in the next couple weeks, then the rejection letter is on the way.

Penn's site says they review apps from october til march, so i'm assumign you can still get an invite in late feb or early march...........is this true?

This is i guess the final word.

I called the office at harvard and they told me that if you dont get an interview invite email by THIS FRIDAY, yes the 17th of January, then you are rejected.

Its not the end of the world guys, i like california's weather better 😉

hmmm, I wonder which was right - when I called they said they were sending interview invites out till Friday 24th...not that I personally am expecting one, but thought I would share anyway 😉 The web site does say the 2nd week of January so Fri 17th would fit better with that...
