Yes, if your gpa and/or mcat are way too low.

However, if your gpa/mcat aren't horrendously low, they will offer you MERP, which is a mini version of semester 1 to see if you can pass it and if you do, you will be able to matriculate

When I was applying in 2018 it was pretty rare to get outright rejected from merp. I did merp and people in my class had 480s mcat and sub 2.5 gpas.
